"Had dinner with my family for 3 nights in a row at La Taverne. We arrived in Colmar on Christmas Day in 2022 and was so glad to find a place where we could eat and well thrilled by the servers' hospitality. The restaurant was packed full of people for the next 2 days and a reservation is highly recommended especially for dinner.
La Taverne has a lively local atmosphere and hosted by a warm group of waiters and waitresses. This is a family run restaurant and full of returning locals and possibly also tourists from other parts of France and Europe.
Loved the local casserole dish and also the rumsteaks served on charcoal grill. The pork knuckle is very well done and tender within for a good price. The wines and beers were also very well priced and you can get everything Alsace has to offer right at this tavern. Service is excellent and will love to be back again if I come back to Colmar!"

"My lunch at La Taverne was unforgettable… yes, I will never forget how terrible it was. They basically pushed sparkling water on us, and the food took too long to be served. When they did serve it, they messed up the order and brought out the smallest possible portion of spaetzle I could imagine. Would be too small for a child’s meal. For 16 euros at that. Didn’t taste bad but extremely overpriced for the portion size and style of restaurant. Server was concise but seemed annoyed when we asked for a correction of the mistake they made. They also only gave us a fork to eat our soup with. Could not recommend La Taverne to anyone."

"This is an average pub restaurant serving the thin style crust pizza (tarte flambée) and other basic foods. We had the salmon and natural flamboyant and the black Angus burger. The two flambées were ok, nothing special. Both came out rather luke war with the salmon one coming out about seven minutes after the burger and other flamboyant. The burger itself was decent, but not really flavorful as a black Angus burger should be. Overall, it is your average restaurant in the area."
