Reviews Summary
Restaurant Au Koïfhus offers a cozy Alsatian dining experience with generous portions of traditional dishes. While many appreciate the festive atmosphere and classic fare like Choucroute garnie, some reviews note that the food can be bland or inconsistent, and service can be slow during busy periods. Non-French speakers might feel less welcomed by some staff members.
"The food was really tasty and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"The location of this restaurant is fantastic, just in the heart of Colmar. It is very cozy inside, decorated like the traditional Alps cabin. It has not such a long wait as other restaurants nearby but it was also full.
The tartes flambees are ok, but they came with less ingredients than expected. The prices are average in the area."

"The restaurant has w perfect location, really pleasant deco and atmosphere. The food was ok, bit nothing special. It was our first dinner in Colmar, after trying a couple more places I can say, there are better addresses to have traditional food. Mine, as well as my son’s was just blend, gratin had a lot of fat and not a lot of taste. The burger also blend, no salt.
Good sweet though."

Restaurants in Colmar
Not to be confused with the shabby little Koïfhus winstub on Rue des Marchands, this popular landmark (the name means "customhouse") serves huge portions of regional standards, plus changing specialties like coq au vin with spaetzle or choucroute "Colmarienne" with six different meats. Appreciative tourists and canny locals contribute to the lively atmosphere. If you can cut a swath through this enthusiastic horde, you can sit in the big, open dining room, glowing with wood and warm fabric, or at a shaded table on the broad, lovely square.
Beautiful Things to See & Do in Colmar
We struck gold when we walked up to Restaurant Au Koïfhus, near the Old Customs House (Ancienne Douane) and were the first customers to sit down. We spoiled ourselves rotten as we were celebrating our third anniversary. We we tried Escargot (edible land snails, a delicacy in France), two of the meals I previously mentioned you should try when here as well as profiteroles (cream puffs) covered in chocolate.
Where To Eat The Best Flammekueche In Colmar (France)? My Favorite Restaurants!
An authentic flammekueche experience in Restaurant “Au Koïfhus”!. For my friends some dishes, like the “cocotte”, were heavy. The wine and service charmed me.
