"Very nice and cheerful place (not cheap). We like galette as they are naturally gluten free for my partner. The fillings were interesting, I loved the chorizo. The venue was outside and pleasant, busy but not too loud. There was no vinegar for the chips which surprised me (I know French don’t do it but with so many UK tourists I thought they would have). The normandie pudding I really enjoyed. It’s an informal place a bit different than the typically place."

This is the place to go for a great galette (savory crepe), and is also very close to the site of the Bayeux Tapestry. It’s situated next to the Aure River, where lovely summer weather makes for a wonderful dining experience on the terrace outside. It’s slightly out of the way of what can be a very busy area in high season and all the better for it; staff are accommodating and helpful and the food is simple, earthy and delicious.

Concur with Le Pommier recommendations it was very good back in May, we also enjoyed Le Petit Normand and the galetes at Le Moulin de la Galette along the river. La Rapière was highly recommended but small and we could never get a reservation. I'd recommend getting reservations each night, even when not crowded in May we needed reservations.

It’s the place to go to eat galettes and is also very close to the Bayeux Tapestry site. It is one of my favorite restaurants because the galettes are excellent but also for its setting. The Moulin de la Galette is located next to the Aure river, where the nice summer weather allows a wonderful culinary experience on the outdoor terrace.
