Reviews Summary
Les Orfevres is highly praised for its exceptional, high-quality, and artfully presented Michelin-guided cuisine, with many highlighting the surprising amuse-bouches and superb wine pairings. While the food and service often receive top marks, some diners note that the interior could benefit from a refresh, and a few have experienced less accommodating service when arriving slightly late.

"Very nice experience overall. The food was very nice and the service was great. They were very nice. They had a good wine list. We had the 4 settings. It was very filling and well prepared. Thank you!"

"We had the 5 course lunch, with accompanying wines. Every course was a delight. We started with three amuse bouche - a battered haddock bite, a wafer biscuit topped with honey, goats cheese and smoked goats cheese and another bite of light and fluffy cauliflower. We started with a fois gras, topped with crisp onions and in an onion sauce, followed by a ravioli filled with egg and haddock. Then we had a lobster quenelle. The highlight for me was the filet steak - cooked to perfection. A desert of strawberrys and sorbet. Everything was beautifully presented and I only wish I cold paint a better picture with my words - all superb. The paired wines were perfect."

The Best Restaurants In Amiens France
Lauded by the Michelin guide as a top spot in Amiens for a creative and gastronomic dining experience, make a reservation at Les Orfèvres for a first-class meal. Michelin-starred chef Frédéric Barette shared his talents at celebrated addresses in Paris before returning to his home region of Picardy to head the kitchen of this elegant restaurant. A refined and minimalist dining room allows for the emphasis to be placed on the expertly-plated dishes, which come served like true works of art.

Les Orfèvres: Where to Eat in Amiens
If the best place to stay is the delightful Hôtel Marotte, then the restaurant not to miss is chef Frédéric Barette’s excellent new place in the heart of town, Les Orfèvres, sited just steps from the cathedral. Barette, a native of northern France, most recently worked at Les Coulisses Vintage in Paris, but decided to return to his native Picardy and open his own restaurant, because “the produce in northern France is really excellent, and there’s such a good quality of life in this region.

Hauts-de-France: the land of chocolate rats… and Welsh rarebit
Les Orfèvres in Amiens serves very high quality and inventive food via its numerous tasting menus. There are few English voices to be heard here (quite a rare thing in northern France) and no pomp; tiny dogs on leads sit among the legs of high chairs and canoodling couples. You can eat à la carte but the €56 four-course tasting menu is just the thing for a leisurely lunch.
Les Orfèvres in Amiens: a fine dining experience
For my first evening in Amiens, I chose to dine at Les Orfèvres, a gastronomic restaurant located near the Cathedral with a very good reputation.
