Reviews Summary
Banh Mi is highly praised for its authentic Vietnamese and fusion Asian dishes, with many calling it a favorite in Quito. Diners love the delicious flavors, generous portions, and vibrant atmosphere, along with excellent cocktails. While most reviews are glowing, some find certain dishes too oily or bland, and a few noted issues with mussels.
"My tour guide, Henry Delgado from Overland Adventure Ecuador, took me here. I will always remember my wonderful experience at this restaurant. It's a must go to restaurant. The quality, flavors, environment, and service were impeccable. Delicious and fulfilling."

"My favorite restaurant in Quito, hands down. I’ve been several times and it never disappoints. The Kimchi Frites and Phad Thai with beef are must orders, but the Pho Burger and Bao KFC are also excellent. Perfect spot for a date or cocktails, great vibe and music too."
Danutė Vyšniauskaitė
"This is a beautiful restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. I couldn’t fault the service as the waitress was incredibly lovely. The standout dish for me was the wings. The kimchi fries get rave reviews but we didn’t think much of them. The portion sizes are huge and we ordered too much but we still managed to eat it all…"

A guide to Quito, where old-world charm meets bohemian flair
Banh Mi: Among the gastronomic gems in Quito’s restaurant scene is this pan-Asian option, which opened in 2016. Try fusion dishes like tuna ceviche with sushi nori and coconut milk or phad krapao, which combines wok-charred llama meat with Thai basil.
Best Restaurants in Quito, Ecuador
This top-shelf Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of the La Floresta neighborhood started at Laboratorio; turning heads with tasty, traditional sandwiches, tangy Asian wings, and crowd-pleasing flavors of home-made ice cream. Today, the expanded menu continues to set the bar for low-key Quito restaurants. Starters include savory bone marrow, crispy rice chips, and a rich chicken liver pate.
Best Asian Restaurants in Quito
As you’ve probably guessed from the name, this restaurant takes inspiration from Vietnam’s most iconic sandwich, the bánh mì, which is a fusion of French and Vietnamese influences. However in this particular restaurant, they’ve reinterpreted the sandwich and added their own Ecuadorean flavor. They also have other Korean, Indian and Thai inspired dishes on the menu.
Quito: Ecuador's mile high capital
Banh Mi - Definitely not great "Southeast Asian" food although they are well reviewed for exactly that. Great pad Thai, decent "larb" interpretation, massaman curry wasn't even close but tasty in its own way and definitely skip the bone marrow, was pretty disgusting.
