What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners praise Saldosa Maloca for its stunning natural setting and unique Amazonian flavors, particularly the signature cocoa juice. While the ambiance and friendly staff are often highlighted, some guests have noted that dishes can take a long time to arrive and occasionally fall short of expectations in terms of quality or value.
"Belem and Saldosa Maloca, Eco- restaurant by tje water, across the river wher the djungle almost take over human buildings is the water hole for hungry and gastronomic pepple.
One of the coolest and most simple designs I have seen, on poles in the water, the sound of the waves, the wind in the trees, all fit in this picture of pure nature beauty. On top of that there is an Angle, I think her name is Savandra, a power woman with an incredible cahrisma, you just want to be in her radiation of care and sweetness, she got it all. Kindness, smile, beauty and she is 100% professional in every move and act she does. She is a multi tasker that keeps the place rolling, serving many tables at a time, but still have time for a chat and a killing smile. The food is outstanding, tje fish was a dream to eat, so tastefull, welldone and prepared for a real carneval. Sallad, rice and meat was not far behind and a cold beer after swiming in the river was spot on. You must visit this eco resto that also is zero waste, nature protected and source separated in every level. This is real sustainability and good green thinking all ober the place. You can also buy handi crafted stuff, home made soap, acai jam and many other great things. The kitchen is running and cooking by it’s own manufactured biogas in a very smart way, composting, reusing and all recy ables are taken care of in a correct way. Pay a vist and enjou this paradise spot for tour belly and soul, it’s all here, just do it."

"A nice place to eat at Cambu Island. Prices are on average of the Island. Staff is helpful, although dishes take too long to arrive. Food is good, but not very good. The exception is their Cocoa juice, which they developed a method to extract and the juice is really tasteful. They have a small store to sell local items."

"A great place to have lunch and chill with a great view over Belém.
The staff is very friendly."

2-day itinerary in Belém and Ilha do Combu, in Pará
Our recommendation for a restaurant is Saldosa Maloca (with the same “L”), which certainly has a great structure built on stilts by the river, pier, some loungers and great dishes that help the fame of Belém with the title of Creative City of Gastronomy.
