What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Eatery garners strong praise for its innovative and delicious Czech cuisine, often described as Michelin-star quality at fantastic prices. Diners rave about the impeccable service, the captivating open kitchen experience, and the exceptionally crafted desserts. While the atmosphere is noted as chic and modern, some find the exterior understated and the lunch menu less extensive than dinner.
"One of the best restaurants in Prague! We loved every dish we tried, from the tomato salad with cheese to the beef and duck, everything was perfectly cooked and paired with delicious sauces. Don’t forget to end your meal with the caramel dessert. It’s absolutely heavenly! 😍"

"Managed to secure a spot thru online reservation and it was seemless.
Food:
1. Lamb cordon bleu 8/10 - lamb is tender, spinach is creamy, potatoes are amazing, except I got slices of lamb that was a bit tough to cut, 1 still has that silver skin, and the other 2 slices had this cartilage (not sure exactly what it is, cos i keep on chewing lol)
2. Caramel dessert (10/10): loved it! Caramel hazelnut paired with cheese ice cream, phenomenal! And the portion is just right.
Seated at the kitchens table is really nice, you can see how the chefs prepare our food."

"Had lunch at The Eatery and overall it was a good experience. The restaurant is a bit low-profile from the outside, which makes it slightly difficult to find at first.
The lunch menu doesn’t have many options, but the duck leg I ordered was excellent — tender, flavorful, and well prepared. Service was fine but could be improved to match the high standard of the food.
Overall, a stylish modern spot with quality dishes, worth a visit if you are in Prague."

Restaurants in Prague
This fantastic destination restaurant, with thoughtful, delicate twists on modern Czech food in a shiny-steel-and-concrete industrial setting, is certainly the district's best and even holds its own against the rest of the city. Run by the former Michelin-starred chef at Alcron, in the center of town, the Eatery is a more informal but no less delicious venture, with all the extras you'd expect from an establishment of this quality, from a chef's table to delicious wines and an open kitchen.

What to Have and Where to Have it
Our current favorite dill sauce in Prague is served by The Eatery in the Holesovice district. Chef Bycek serves a refined version of the classic that has all the deep, slightly sweet and sour flavors of the original, without the heft. Another great version can be served at Kuchyn in the Prague Castle district, but the fact is that the concept of the restaurant relies on frequent changes in the menu, so you can never know if they will have it.

Following four years working in some of England’s top kitchens and then a stint as head chef at the acclaimed Alcron Restaurant in central Prague, Pavel Býček decided to strike out alone and open The Eatery in the hip district of Holešovice. The chance to sit by the open kitchen and eyeball the adept chefs at work is worth the short tram ride from town alone. That said, it’s the exquisite plates of seasonal Czech food that steal the show.
