Reviews Summary
Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice is celebrated for its authentic and hearty Czech cuisine, with generous portions that offer great value. Diners consistently praise dishes like the roast duck, goulash, and svíčková. The traditional pub atmosphere and excellent Pilsner Urquell contribute to a classic experience. However, some patrons have noted inconsistent service and issues with tipping practices, suggesting a need for clarity in billing.
"We ordered the typical Old Czech cuisine and it didn't disappoint at all. The portion is big to the price. We shared between 3 small Asian women and still overly full. The roasted duck is very tender, all small cuts are very tasty and surprisingly different to each other, and the dumplings are excellent. Definitely a very popular pub to the locals. Worth the recommendation!"

"Absolutely outstanding! The grilled tenderloin beef steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor – one of the best I’ve had in Brno. Finished with their almond cheesecake, which was heavenly. A must-visit for food lovers!"

"The best place to try traditional Czech cuisine in Brno! We liked it so much that we came back here twice during our stay in the city.
Very tasty, huge selection, large portions, and made with love. Especially liked the veal tartare and duck. Attentive and cheerful staff - high level experience of every aspect customer might think."

After climbing to Spielberg Castle and touring several museums, you can relax at Stopkova pivnice with a cold beer; if you're hungry, try the house guláš. Now part of the Kolkovna chain, there has been a pub on this site since the late 19th century. Its name comes from Jaroslav Stopka, who took over the existing pub in 1910.
Beer in Brno: A Guide to the Best Breweries, Pubs, & Craft Beer Bars
Pilsner Urquell pubs are easily identified by their curved copper bars topped with the shimmering dome of a brewing kettle and the tap area at Stopkova Plzenska Pivnice is no different. As expected, this is one of the best places in Brno to get your Pilsner direct from the tank alongside some traditional Moravian cuisine and the fact that the neo-renaissance building is steeped in history (the house dates back to the gothic period and a pub has been on the site since the late 19th century) only adds to its appeal.

A First Timer's Travel Guide to Brno, Czech Republic •
Stopkova Plzenska Pivnice serves up local favorites such as roast duck, goulash and Moravian Sparrow (which I learned is actually a pork dish). Since I am not at all adventurous when it comes to meat dishes, I opted for the smoked sausages baked in beer, under the appropriate “Meals to Accompany Beer” category. I still think about it to this day.
