Reviews Summary
Buža Bar is celebrated for its unparalleled cliffside location with stunning Adriatic Sea views, making it a truly unique spot. Visitors love the relaxed atmosphere, opportunity for cliff jumping, and spectacular sunset vistas. However, some note that drinks can be pricey, and it's a cash-only establishment with no food or restrooms available.
". An incredible hidden gem just outside the city walls, perched over a cliff above the Adriatic Sea. Breathtaking doesn’t even begin to describe it. It’s quaint and peaceful—an ideal spot for a quiet break. The beer was ice cold, the views were stunning, the prices were fair, and the service was top-notch.
What truly made it unforgettable? Sharing it with my incredible wife. She made the experience even better than it already was.
Pro tip: Duck through the tiny archway and narrow doorway. We wouldn’t have found this spot if we hadn’t noticed people waiting for others to squeeze through the corridor down the goat steps.
Find it. It’s worth it—100%."

"Great spot to take a breather after some walking and sun. You can just sit back relax and enjoy the breeze and ocean view. Bring your own swimsuits and towel if you plan to jump into the water from the cliff or cement steps.
The bar only serve drinks and no food."

"Genuinely the most beautiful bar I’ve ever been to. Its’ views of the Adriatic coastline are no short of stunning, and it’s easily accessible from the very streets of inner Dubrovnik.
It is absolutely jumping but if you go on the off hour ( 3 or 4 ) you’ll get a seat and you’re welcome to spend as much time as you like. Waitstaff are friendly and intelligent, all of which able to seamlessly speak English, Croatian, and Italian. Absolutely phenomenal place."

Nightlife in Dubrovnik
Walking through an 800-year-old wall to find a secret swimming spot across the sea from a cursed island sounds like a fairy tale, but in Dubrovnik such places actually exist—and there are two of them. One of the Buža (hole-in-the-wall) bars is marked by a wooden sign pointing toward "cold drinks." The other has no signage at all; you just walk through a doorway in the city walls. With tables arranged on a series of terraces built into the rocks and jazzy soundtracks to go along with stunning vistas, both bars make a great place to stop for a drink or a swim; you can jump right off the rocks in front of the bar.
Best beaches in Dubrovnik
These rocks below the city walls, accessed by a doorway off ulica od Margarite, are something of an iconic spot for swimming and sunbathing (or sipping a drink or two), though they’re not quite the (relatively) hidden gem they once were. There are a few small tables with sun umbrellas, served by a small bar, and a few concreted areas where you can try to fit a towel or just jump off into the sea. The rocks at Buža are not sheltered, so it’s not the best choice for kids.
Where To Go In Dubrovnik For Panoramic Views
When the glow of the sun begins to lessen, visitors make a beeline for Buza – two bars cut into the rockface on the side of the City Walls. It’s the perfect place to drink up the sunsets with a cocktail. Although touted as something of a ‘hidden-bar’, these days, Buza is nobody’s best-kept secret, and tends to pack up with punters pretty quickly, so if you’re chasing a sundowner, arrive way before sunset to guarantee a table.
The best bars and nightlife in Dubrovnik
This makeshift open-air bar (working summer-only) is madly popular, but that’s part of the fun. Accessed through a tiny doorway in the seaward-facing city walls, the view that opens before you is sublime – just sea and sky, with tables arranged on a series of levels on the rocks. You can even clamber down to the water for a swim.

Inside the old town, enter a literal hole in the wall and walk down the stone steps to the Buža Bar which is perched on the cliffs between the city and the sea. You can buy drinks here (which are on the pricier side, but the location is great so it’s kind of worth it). Chairs and tables are perched on rocks nearer the walls, but climb down closer to the sea and there are plenty of spots to sunbathe and climb or jump directly into the water from.

Buža Bar is a VERY cool spot — a bar carved out of rocks on the edge of the Old Town overlooking Lokrum Island!. (You probably saw it from above while walking the walls yesterday.) And when you walk through the doorway, you’ll find yourself on the edge of a cliff staring directly at the Adriatic Sea, and one of the best views of Lokrum Island. Ultimate Guide to the Best Instagram Spots in Dubrovnik
The secret, not so secret ‘Hole-in-the-Wall’ Buža Bar is located between Svetog Petra and Sveta Margarita on the south side of the Old Town. Technically speaking they’re two Buža Bars but if you want a dip in the Adriatic Sea whilst sipping on wine or cold beer during sunset, this is the best instagram spot for sure. To add, there is a limited drinks menu, it’s cash only and there are no toilets so go easy on the alcohol.
Eating in Croatia - Dubrovnik
While walking around Old Town, we happened to stumble by a bar hidden down some steps and perched along the rock cliff overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Named Buža Bar, this place definitely has some of the best views. There were no seats left by the time we got there mid-afternoon, and the bar only accepts cash (which we had none of), so we didn’t stay for a drink but we did take a few photos and enjoyed the views.

Dubrovnik, Croatia, Travel Guide - Best Hotels, Restaurants, & Activities in Dubrovnik
Tucked into a cliff in Old Town lies Buza Bar, a hole-in-the-wall bar serving cold drinks and ice-cream. Finding the unmarked bar is part of the adventure, and whether or not you're planning to actually dive in yourself, you can expect heart palpitations.
