Reviews Summary

Mondongo's is a highly popular spot lauded for its authentic Colombian cuisine and generous portions, making it a local favorite and a must-visit for tourists. While the food is consistently good and service friendly, some find it a bit pricey for the type of cuisine and note that it can get very loud, especially during peak hours.

"Very popular place, need to wait to get in. Food is delicious, service is fast and top quality! Highly recommend!"

Shengyi Ye

"This was a wonderful discovery during my stay in Laureles. It’s a very established, iconic restaurant in the neighborhood. I was looking for somewhere reputable to try Ajiaco and I ended up here. The vibe of the restaurant is classic. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, from the doorman to the hostess to the waiter. The dining area was spotless. The menu is ample, featuring local and traditional Colombian dishes. We ordered the Ajiaco (which I shared with someone) and the Solomo. Both dishes were very good and cooked perfectly. The food came out quickly and freshly made. Or waiter, Cristian, was attentive and efficient, even taking the time to tell me about the history of the restaurant when asked. If you’re traveling in the area, definitely add this place to your list!"

Dorian Jackson

"Great spot for authentic Colombian food! The servers were professional and super friendly. While the menu isn’t huge, it’s just right — everything we tried was delicious and the portions were generous. You can tell it's a local favorite, with a good mix of locals and tourists dining there. We loved it so much, we went back twice — and both visits were excellent!"

Where to Dine in Medellín

Mondogo's is a great place to check out traditional Paisa grub in bright, modern surroundings with very much a local vibe. The top dish here is the eponymous mondongo, a filling soup made with tripe (stomach of a cow), slow cooked with vegetables. They also do a bandeja paisa (big plate of everything) with absolutely all the trimmings, and it’s so popular that there are frequently queues outside the door, but don’t worry: tag onto at the end, and you’ll be tucking in in no time.
