What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Salvo Patria is celebrated for its creative, locally-sourced Colombian cuisine and its stunning, music-filled ambiance. Diners rave about the inventive dishes, particularly the desserts, and the personable service. However, some find the portions to be small for the price, and the loud music can be a deterrent for those seeking a quiet dining experience.
"We went here on Friday 1st August. We saw on the app 'find me gluten free' that they were gluten free friendly and as my girlfriend is a coeliac this was most helpful.
Upon our arrival (after booking a table, we recommend this) the friendly and professional staff sat us down and one gentlemen recommended a few house dishes to us and told us which dishes on the menu werent safe (it was very few). We ordered 2 of the specials which were pork ribs and a tomato salad with other various delightful vegetables in and it was delicious, we also ordered an extra side of their traditional roasted potatoes as well which came with a lovely thick cheese sauce. The food was immaculate, the service was fantastic and even though there was a slight language barrier, we were still able to convey our gratitude at exceptional food, it was the best pork rib I've ever had. Thank you for being one of our food highlights of our trip to South America."

"This restaurant serves excellent food—creative, made with local produce, and original without feeling pretentious. The dishes are simple, but not so simple that you could easily pull them off at home.
The meat and fish dishes were the least exciting, lacking the spark of the other plates. As for the cheese with figs, that was just a silly choice on my part. The rest of the small dishes, though, were interesting and enjoyable.
Overall, it was a good experience, though a bit pricey for the context. That said, I’ll be back.
The place itself is stunning—absolutely gorgeous and beautifully decorated. The music was fantastic, too: Colombian tracks from a mix of styles that really added to the vibe. The only problem? It was way too loud for a restaurant, and when I asked if they could turn it down, they simply said, this is the volume we want."

"Cute place. The food was good. Lots of great options. The plates are divided in small, medium, and large, and you can choose to share them. They will be served as they come out from the kitchen. We ordered 2 large plates and an entrance, and it was enough for 2 people. I did not like the potatoes too much as i found them too burnt for my taste, but the palmitos and the dumplings were great!"

Named for a childhood game, this three-year-old restaurant toys with food for sophisticated grown-ups. With its desk chairs and a list of specials spelled out in alphabet magnets, the spot feels like an old-fashioned schoolhouse — if the teacher’s desk were replaced with a well-curated bar and its lunchroom served lamb neck and rabbit ragout, left. Where Two of Bogotá’s Hottest Chefs Like to Eat Out
I can never decide where to go, so I rotate between Mesa Franca and Salvo Patria. Both of these guys are in our neighborhood and always deliver quality, local-style dishes with a twist.
