Now with three locations (on calles 70, 81, and 105), Masa has become Bogotá’s preeminent bakery and brunch destination. Sisters Silvana and Mariana Villegas mill their own flour that they use for artisan breads, bake incredible pastries (including originals like the cruffin, a croissant-muffin hybrid), and have some of the best sandwiches in town. Their enormous, newest location on Calle 105 might be the most beautiful food space in Bogotá.

Masa is a modern bakery and cafe that has taken Bogota by storm with multiple locations across the city. Known for its freshly baked bread, pastries, and wholesome dishes, Masa is a go-to spot for breakfast, brunch, or a leisurely lunch. The inviting, bright spaces and casual atmosphere make Masa a perfect place for families and friends to gather and enjoy great food.

The perfect place for freshly baked bread, pastries and coffee in the morning, with great sandwiches, tartines (my favourite is the roast beef) and salads for lunch. You can create your own salad from a variety of delectable and fresh ingredients. In fact, even if I ate lunch there every day, I could still enjoy a completely different salad each time.

Masa is a very fashionable, well-designed, high-ceilinged space in the Zona G area, accessed by a wonderfully over-sized door. There are two outdoor areas, and an indoor space with a central long communal table similar to Le Pain Quotidien. The menu lists 12 different kinds of juice, all good, and you can have your chocolate hot or cold here.

It would be the first of many terrific bistro cafes we’d wind up visiting in the Colombian capital. Masa is a modern cafe/bakery that serves typical bistro fare like sandwiches, tartines, pastries, and desserts. A few dishes caught my eye but at the behest of our server, I wound up going with this delicious steak sandwich.

Recalling New York, Masa is all about high ceilings, spacious surroundings and chic décor. Finding a good sandwich isn’t easy in South America, but in Masa they’ve got you covered. Everything on the menu is delicious, affordable and high quality so if you’re in Zona G looking for some lunch, this is the place to go.

The Villegas sisters, Mariana and Silvana, started Masa, a café and bakery, on 11/11/11, and it’s probably the best breakfast in town, with things like shakshuka, danishes, and doughnuts with local flavors. More European-style, but still, their bakery is up there.

People say Masa is great but I really don’t understand what the big deal is!. I guess it’s the space. They have a bright and airy space in Zona G for journalists and freelance workers.
