What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Old Xi'an Restaurants offers a taste of authentic Shaanxi cuisine, with many visitors enjoying the historical significance and unique dishes like Biang Biang noodles. However, some find it to be a tourist trap with potential language barriers and slow service, though others praise its fast service. Despite mixed reviews on the 'tourist trap' aspect, the food quality is often described as decent, and the gluten-free options are a pleasant surprise for some.
"We had the noodles, along with the fried chicken.. the noodle were so good. It had an olive oil taste with a "lasagna style" pasta. I would eat there again and the prices were very reasonable"
Paulo Eduardo da Silva
"The food was only OK. It's a tourist trap designed to sell (loose leaf) tea to tourist. We had to wait ages for our food, and they forgot half the dishes. Had to ask for chopsticks and bowls as well. They just left a plate of lamb on the table with nothing for us to eat it with. I think we upset them when we declined the offer to purchase tea we weren't interested in."
Tim
"authentic chinese food. don't know their names. waitresses can't speak english. most tourists do not have the Chinese mother tongue. communication is hard. food is ok. service is fast. walking distance to the museum of terracotta warriors."
