What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
VEA Restaurant is lauded for its exceptional Chinese-French fusion cuisine and innovative tasting menus, with many diners praising the use of luxurious ingredients and the attentive service. However, some guests have found specific dishes like the sea cucumber to be less impressive than others, and a few reviews mention slow service during peak times or when certain dishes are being developed.
"The food was absolutely phenomenal, with well-balanced and unforgettable flavors. Ingredients I don’t typically gravitate toward—like sea cucumber, ginkgo nuts, persimmon, and anything sweet potato—were so beautifully prepared that I found them delightful. The chef’s personal touch on one of the dishes came with such a cute story, making the experience even more special. They also incorporated a few childhood memory ingredients, turning the meal into a nostalgic walk down memory lane. The service was equally impressive. Philip took excellent care of us, and the entire team was incredibly attentive, ensuring a seamless dining experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended!"

"A meal to remember : beautiful from the start to the end. We made reservations at VEA on the dining day itself and were lucky to score seats for two. Everything from the service to the food to the ambience of the place and presentation of the food were on point. We had their six courses and trust me, it is MORE than enough. They couldn’t stop feeding us and my companion and I were stuffed at the end of our 3.5 hours dinner. I haven’t been to many restaurants that do Chinese French fusion so this was an interesting experience for me. Out of all their dishes and even though it’s tough to pick a favourite, I absolutely loved the Mackerel dish. The sea cucumber is their flagship and most famous dish but I found that rather disappointing in that it tasted overcooked and the texture wasn’t ideal. They have an interesting mix of desserts too. I especially loved the traditional wrap that was served in an old-school box to us. The meal is rather pricey but worth it in my opinion."

"One must be there to appreciate the food, service and atmosphere! Our group of three tried the 8-course menu for each person. We also added the fish maw and abalone. In total, the price tag is HK$3640 per person. All courses are imaginative sino-Franco fusion, interesting, exquisitely presented and tasty.
Must make reservations in advance. Have nice surprises from start to finish"
