When the food tastes like a warm hug>>> 🇵🇷❤️🍴 I can definitely tell why Bad Bunny loves this place! La Casita Blanca in San Juan is more than a lunch spot — it’s like stepping into your grandmother’s kitchen. The pollo guisado and plantain soup tasted like they were made with pure love, slow-cooked to perfection and straight to the soul. Comfort food, cozy vibes, and Caribbean heart in every bite....

Reviews Summary

La Casita Blanca is celebrated for its authentic Puerto Rican flavors and warm, traditional ambiance, often described as a taste of home. While many praise the delicious and comforting dishes, some reviews mention inconsistencies in preparation or flavor, and long wait times can be a factor due to its popularity.

"I had been wanting to visit this James Beard Award winner for a while, and I was not disappointed! They don’t take reservations, so we had to wait in line outside for a little bit, but it wasn’t bad at all. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant were awesome, with parts being covered but still open air and trees and vines growing inside the restaurant itself! We were given plantain soup to start with, and it, along with everything we ordered, was delicious! If you want a meal in San Juan that is nice but not overly expensive, I would definitely recommend this place! Not pictured is the fried cheese with guava sauce, which was also excellent!"

Zane Maguet

"Had the best experience at this Puerto Rican restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – full of flavor and made with so much love. Our waiter Luis was amazing and went above and beyond to explain the menu, share recommendations, and make sure we understood all the different dishes! You could tell he really cared about making our visit special!"

Erica Rangel-Limon

"We paid a Valet to avoid searching for parking. We also had to wait in line for an hour and did not start eating until being at this location for 2 hours. The service was great and professional. The Food was also delicious. A lot of seafood options. The Beef Guisado (Beef Stew) tasted like it was homemade, very good. Prices were okay."

San Juan, Puerto Rico – New Worlder

A local staple for the comida criolla that the island is known for, this Santurce spot’s cozy, cluttered decor is evocative of a long-lost relative’s living quarters with wacky, plastic tablecloths, a decorated, corner Christmas tree, and mismatched flower pots decorating the space. Get past the kitsch and enjoy board-written favorites including bacalaitos (cod fritters), carne guisada (beef stew), crab salmorejo (stewed crab), asopao (chicken rice soup) and tostones. If patitas con garbanzos (pig’s feet with chickpeas) is one of the daily specials, it’s not to be missed.

For down-and-dirty Criollo, chef Jesús Pérez Ruiz’s homey La Casita Blanca in Santurce is rock solid.
