Reviews Summary

Screaming Eagle offers a truly unique dining experience, celebrated for its innovative French fusion cuisine and exceptional service. Many guests rave about the romantic ambiance, especially the option to dine in a bed, and the attentiveness of the staff. However, some reviews mention extremely slow service and disappointing food quality, with one diner even finding a caterpillar in their salad.

"This place is outstanding. We’ve been to many restaurants on Aruba including most of the top rated ones and our meal (fresh fish of the day) was the best we’ve had on the island. The bacon wrapped veggies was scrumptious. Our waiter Mark was pleasant and funny, service was excellent, you cannot beat the atmosphere as the dining is outside across from Eagle Beach and the pricing is reasonable given the location. Highly recommended!"

Rob P

"Great restaurant! Location was perfect for us. Food was outstanding. Would highly recommend. One person in our group had food allergies, and they were more then helpful accommodating. Thank you!"

Steve Phenegar

"Food and service was amazing! We had Artichoke Carpaccio as an appetizer and it was very tasty. Outdoor seating across from the beach. There was a fan above our table which kept us cool. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu items and gave recommendations based on our interest. Dessert was cooked at the table. Great experience!"

Who’s cookin’ in Aruba’s kitchens – an insider scoop on the islands’ culinary nursery

Fast forward a few years, Joyce moved to Aruba where her brother Erwin Hüsken already had made a name for himself as Head Chef at Flying Fishbone and later-on at Screaming Eagle and at culinary pop-up events such as The Secret Garden. Joyce soon found her own space on the culinary scene in Aruba and started out as chef at Yemanja in 2008, soon after it opened. Less than a year later, in 2009 she took over Yemanja from the previous owners, who continued with their other businesses at the time, Que Pasa and Marandi.

Just off Eagle Beach, Screaming Eagle Restaurant-Lounge has always been famous for being the only place on the island where you can dine right in a canopied bed!. But the surprising thing: People first go for the unique bed experience, and then return simply for the food—and don’t care if they sit at tables in the main air-conditioned dining room or outside in the alfresco courtyard. Maybe that’s because Chef Erwin Husken was recently named the top chef in the Caribbean by Caribbean Journal.

Aruba Restaurants

You can't help but be captivated by the décor at Screaming Eagle, where floor-length, gauzy curtains separate rows of tables, a curvaceous bar casts a reddish glow and the lounge features beds draped in yet more gauze. Dine on the patio or order "dinner in bed;" either way, the food is beautifully presented, and the flavors really shine through. Sample the artichoke carpaccio or duck liver crème brûlée followed by grilled lobster or tenderloin with a shiitake-and-pine-nut sauce.
