What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about Italy in the World-Wine Restaurant for its authentic Italian flavors, generous portions, and incredibly warm atmosphere, often highlighted by the passionate owner, Mauro. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some note that pasta might not always taste homemade, and portion sizes can sometimes be perceived as a bit small for the price by a few. The charming Cunucu house setting and delightful wine selection further enhance the dining experience, making it a memorable stop in Aruba.
"Italy in the World brings the very essence of Italy straight to Aruba, and it does so with heart, authenticity, and unforgettable flavour. Set in one of Oranjestad’s oldest and most charming landmarks, a lovingly restored early 19th-century Cunucu house, the restaurant offers more than just a meal… It offers a journey.
We were lucky enough to dine here twice during our May 2024 trip, and both evenings were nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped in, the warm, intimate atmosphere enveloped us. The passion of the chef and owner, Mauro, is evident in every detail.
The food? Incredible. The truffle and mushroom risotto was hands-down the best we’ve ever had. Rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying. The four cheese, truffle, and mushroom ravioli was equally out of this world, every bite bursting with flavour. To top it off, we were honoured to be the first to try the pizza from Mauro’s brand-new oven, a thoughtful and generous surprise that truly touched us.
Mauro’s warmth and hospitality made the experience even more special. He helped us select the perfect wines to pair with our dishes, some of the finest Italian wines we’ve ever tasted, and his energy, kindness, and genuine love for what he does left a lasting impression.
We were honestly heartbroken to leave Aruba the next day, knowing we couldn’t return for one last dinner. Italy in the World is a rare gem, a place where food, history, and human connection come together to create something unforgettable.
Thank you, Mauro, for making our two dinners so special. We can’t wait to return and see you again!"

"I never leave reviews for restaurants (and I eat at a lot of them) but this restaurant was too perfect not to. The owner was our server and he was just a gem. So much passion and love for his restaurant. The food was the best we had on the island and the best Italian food we’ve had out in a long time. My dad is half Italian so we eat Italian a lot. Together we ate the gnocchi bolognese, gnocchi with a sausage cream sauce, and truffle risotto. Each meal was absolutely delicious. The gnocchi was pillowy (which you don’t find often). I could not recommend this place enough!!! Plus the atmosphere was beyond enjoyable and the music was perfect."

"I recently visited this Italian restaurant in Aruba. The food was decent, although a bit on the expensive side for the portion size. The service was okay, but what stood out was how friendly and welcoming the owner was. One thing I did notice is that most Italian restaurants typically serve bread with meals, but here I had to ask for it. The owner brought it out right away at no extra charge, which I appreciated. They also had live music, which added a really nice atmosphere to the evening."
