Reviews Summary

Flying Fishbone offers a truly unique and romantic dining experience with its signature feet-in-the-water or beachside seating and stunning sunset views. While many praise the exceptional ambiance and attentive service, particularly from staff like Rommel, some diners found the food quality did not consistently match the price point or expectations. Despite minor criticisms about food or occasional slow service, the overall experience is considered worthwhile for its atmosphere and setting.

"Flying Fishbone was an enjoyable experience! We had great service, amazing food, and a fun atmosphere. We enjoyed the calamari as an appetizer, then had salmon, halibut, and surf & turf for dinner. We all ordered creme brulee for dessert. Everything was delicious! We even got some fun photos. I would recommend it!"

Samira Zimmerly

"I was excited to try Flying Fishbone in Aruba, especially with its reputation and unique waterfront setting. The atmosphere really is lovely — dining right by the water with the soft glow of blue lights was a special touch, and the staff were attentive and welcoming. That said, the food itself fell short for me. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t match the level I was expecting for such a popular spot. Overall, worth it for the ambiance and service, but the food could have been better."

Georgia Panagiotakos

"Awesome ambiance, great food and service. We were seated at the beach with foot soaked in water. Avoid long dresses or pants if you're planning to sit on the beach. Reservation is highly recommended. Fish of the day was snapper and special of the day was rainbow fish, both were perfectly cooked fillet and tasted fresh. The food lost a star to the dessert we selected which was tiramisu mousse, it was tad too bitter. Service was great but probably because it got very busy, the server would sometimes take time to come. Highly recommend the fish cake for appetizer."

Restaurants in Aruba

Opened in 1977, this was the first restaurant in Aruba to offer feet-in-the-water dining, and its insanely romantic seaside setting is why this legendary landmark is so worth the trek out to Savaneta. An international menu is designed to please all palates, but the real culinary draw is fish straight from the island’s most famous local fisherman’s pier, located a few doors over. The setting is enchanting, with fabulous sunset views giving way to the twinkling lights of tiki torches and lights set in the sea; even the indoor decor is awash with artificial stars.

What is it: A 21 year-old restaurant known for fresh-caught seafood. Why go: At this classic Savaneta haunt, grab a table on the beach and enjoy a toes-in-the-sand dinner under swaying palms. Most of the fish is caught right off the island, and top dishes include lobster and avocado salad, Peruvian ceviche with oranges and ginger syrup, skewers of black tiger shrimp with herb risotto and shrimp shitake and blue cheese casserole.

The Best Luxury Spots on the Caribbean Island of Aruba

If you want to venture out of the resort I would recommend my favorite restaurant Flying Fishbone, which is a 30 minute car ride to the other side of the island along a small bay in Savaneta, Aruba's charming fisherman's town. This restaurant offers delicious fresh seafood and steak creations and is where you can dine with your feet in the sand or the gentle lapping the water with flying fish jumping around you.
