The Keg Steakhouse + Bar had one tiny location nearly 50 years ago, in the basement of an industrial building in North Vancouver and one major goal, which is to develop a venue with excellent food, superior service, and an incredible environment that everyone could count on when there was a cause to celebrate. Since then, they’ve had incredible visitors from all over the continent. They take pride in being a destination for celebrations no matter where you live, which is why they’ve opened 100 steakhouses in 9 provinces and 5 states.

A few other restaurants of note include the always-packed Stella’s for breakfast and lunch, the Keg Steakhouse and Bar for upscale meat and potatoes, and, of course, Tim Hortons for coffee. We still haven’t decided yet our top choice for poutine, and a few of our favorites from past visits—like a French bistro we loved—did not survive COVID-19 shutdowns, so we set out to find new winners.
