I’ve been going to Zogs Dogs for years because they’re one of the quickest places to get a satisfying meal, and they’re right by the gondola, so an easy snack to grab after skiing. This stand has a variety of hot dogs (including a vegetarian option) along with a dozen toppings you can pick from, such as jalapenos, sauerkraut, and more. They also have poutine, which is a Canadian classic of french fries drenched in gravy and cheese curds.

Pass the Blackcomb Gondola and walk a few steps down the stroll – Zog’s is on your right, just in front of Showcase Snowboard. You won’t be able to pass by without stopping for a snack.

They also sell beaver tails (flat doughnuts) that are way over-priced but it seems a must in Whistler because this is a quintessential Canadian experience.

Zog’s lures you in with the aroma of fried onions and they have many variations on the classic poutine. The fries are nice and chunky, the portions are generous, and the curds are fresh. Best of all, you can load up the fried onions at no extra charge – that’s a whole other food group!

For a quick breakfast right next to the Whistler gondola, Zog’s is a great place. I’ve eaten here before due to its famous poutine, but its breakfast sandwiches also hit the spot. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and was sandwiched, along with gooey cheese, in a soft, fresh bun.

It’s close enough to the ones I’ve had in Montreal in terms of flavour (price is another matter, everything here is expensive). Other restaurants will have their own twist and fancy it up, but poutine is meant to be cheap, street food like hotdogs.
