Reviews Summary

J & J Wonton Noodle House is lauded for its authentic Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine, with many highlighting the fresh, house-made noodles and generous portions. The restaurant is also praised for its warm atmosphere and welcoming service, making it a local favorite. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some diners have noted a lack of spice or distinct Sichuan flavors in certain dishes, and one review mentioned a discrepancy with scallop ingredients.

"Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Victoria! The place is always buzzing with people, and the menu offers an impressive variety of dishes. During our visit, we tried sizzling beef, sizzling seafood, noodles, and a flavorful duck dish. The sizzling beef was absolutely outstanding — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. A must-try spot for anyone who loves authentic Chinese food!"

Hatice Alparslan Akin

"One of the oldest establishments in Victoria for Chinese food popular among locals. I was expecting mala flavour in Schezwan noodle but it turned out to be hot and sweet noodle. Prawn and meat were smokey and melt in your mouth tender; vegetables were crispy and fresh. Service was efficient. Expect a line up so good to make a reservation."

Dibya Shrestha

"Very nice place with welcoming service and lovely food. Full vegan menu available. Will be back again : )"

Restaurants in Victoria

Fresh house-made noodles and wontons draw local office workers to this long-standing Chinese spot. Szechuan and Cantonese specialties, from shrimp noodle soup to beef with hot-chili bean sauce, dominate the long menu, but Singapore-style noodles and Indonesian chow mein appear, too. The diner-style eatery is low on character, but the crowds of locals and an open kitchen keep things buzzing.
