Reviews Summary
Dosanko Restaurant is lauded for its authentic Japanese comfort food, with many diners praising the Omurice and unique fusion dishes. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service contribute to a delightful experience. However, some reviews mention inconsistent food quality and the restaurant's early closing hours as drawbacks.
"Really recommend! Home style Japanese food, and they made them so well! All sauces (salad dressing or food dipping) are extraordinary and special. I finally tried the soft scrambled eggs on rice! Love it!"

"My partner and I are from Toronto and went here for lunch because of the good reviews. I had the omurice with hayashi sauce and he had the omurice with curry sauce and both tasted amazing! I like how they cut open the omurice and pour on the sauce for you. Plus the waiter named Hikaru was super friendly! I even had a chance to practice my Japanese in a conversation with him. When we come back to Vancouver next time we'll definitely stop by again for that omurice. :)
Edit: The dessert and the tea were also very good!!
おいしかったです!"

"One of my favorite places in the entire city to have a meal. The portion sizes are perfect, the food is delicious, and the staff are wonderful. I've gone here many times, brought friends and have always enjoyed myself. Highly recommend."

Dosanko’s food comes from an actual home — Akiyo and Nathan Lowey’s. It’s the food that Japanese-born Akiyo cooked for their two kids when she was a full-time mom. Then she went to work front-of-house at Tojo’s Japanese restaurant and Nathan took over house-hubby duties after years as cook, sous chef and chef at Robert Belcham’s Refuel (gone), Campagnolo, and Campagnolo Roma.
