Reviews Summary
Osteria Giulia is a highly acclaimed Italian restaurant, celebrated for its exquisite Ligurian cuisine, refined ambiance, and exceptional service. Diners praise signature dishes like the Focaccia di Recco and handmade pastas, along with the elegant setting perfect for special occasions. However, some find the value for money less compelling or the ambiance surprisingly noisy, suggesting it may not meet all expectations for a Michelin-starred experience.
"Osteria Giulia is a masterclass in modern Italian fine dining—and its Michelin star (2023) is completely deserved. The food is nothing short of exceptional, with each dish crafted with precision, balance, and bold simplicity. There’s a quiet confidence in the kitchen that you can taste.
The ambience is small, intimate, and beautifully designed—a perfect blend of refined elegance and coastal Italian warmth. It feels upscale without being showy.
Service was flawless—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. From the sommelier pairings to the timing of each course, everything was executed with precision.
Osteria Giulia isn’t just a great Italian restaurant—it’s one of Toronto’s very best, period. An unforgettable dining experience."

"We finally managed to get a reservation at this much-hyped Michelin Star restaurant, and honestly, it left us wondering what all the fuss is about.
The ambience was definitely beautiful, with a well-designed interior and a nice vibe but it was surprisingly noisy, which made it hard to enjoy a relaxed conversation.
As for the food, it was pretty average. Nothing particularly memorable or unique, especially for a Michelin Star spot. The presentation was also quite basic something you’d expect from a regular restaurant, not one with such acclaim.
On the plus side, the service was good. The hosts were attentive and made sure we were comfortable throughout the evening.
All in all, it was a decent experience, but given how hard it is to book a table here, we expected more. It just didn’t live up to the hype. Wouldn’t visit again.
I echo some of the sentiments shared in other reviews. This restaurant doesn’t quite meet the standard one would expect from a Michelin Star establishment. It seems the distinction is being handed out a bit too generously these days"

"The perfect spot for a special occasion! We tried some amazing dishes like hand braided pasta with wild squid and ravioli filled with lobster and prawns. The endive salad was a great starter, and the Mille feuille with coconut and passion fruit was a unique and tasty dessert.
Osteria Giulia’s dishes are masterly crafted with high quality ingredients. It was a pleasure to dine there, and I would definitely return for a special occasion."

Toronto has two Little Italys, so it might seem strange that we’re telling you to head over to Yorkville for some life-changing focaccia. But once you bite into the stracchino-stuffed Ligurian flatbread made using a recipe that’s 900 years old, you’ll quickly understand why Osteria Giulia is one of the best restaurants in all of Toronto. Besides the focaccia, you’ll want to focus on the pasta and seafood dishes like squid ink spaghetti paired with Nova Scotia lobster and sweet corn and Parmigiano cappelletti.
The 25 Best Restaurants In Toronto
Another Italian standout on the list of best restaurants in Toronto is Osteria Giulia, an eatery focused on the seaside cuisine of Liguria, Italy, a region also famous for introducing the world to pesto and focaccia baked with stracchino cheese. As such, you can look forward to the aforementioned focaccia as a house specialty and a menu heavy on the ocean's bounty. In particular, two dishes deliver the Ligurian seaside in pasta or risotto form: there's wild Dungeness crab served with Carnaroli rice, white asparagus, and sherry or braided pasta with bay scallops and squid in garlicky anchovy and chili finish.
