Reviews Summary

Diners rave about the extensive menu and generous portions at Bagel Cafe, often citing it as a favorite breakfast spot. The cozy, eclectic atmosphere adds to the charm, though some find the coffee overpriced and service inconsistent. Despite minor drawbacks, the unique local dishes and overall experience make it a must-visit in St. John's.

"Voted the best breakfast in St. John's for good reason! My husband and I enjoyed our visit so much we came back again the next day. Quirky charming decor supported by hearty portions of delicious food. I don't have good coffee in my hotel so I thoroughly enjoyed the giant mug I received shortly after being seated. Reminds me of a cross between the old Baker Street Cafe in Ottawa and Serendipity III in New York. Worth a visit (and another, and another...!)"

"Loved this place and all day breakfast.. its the best! They had a two for one lobster deal with side and a bottle of wine... i only got one lobster for me but it was great and yummy garlic better!! Recommended 100%

Has a step up to get in but there were some small tables outside."

"Might be my new favourite breakfast place in my travels this summer. Love the eccentricity of everything inside this restaurant. The 80’s/90’s music playing was trippy. Serving staff were very pleasant, seating was quick. Food was fine. Ordered the Cabot Tower, not because I was heading back out onto the sea but because I could. Eyes were bigger than my stomach for sure, but didn’t care."

The 10 Best Gluten-Free Breakfast Spots in Downtown

Had breakfast here twice during our week in St. John's, and it was worth it!. So many options, and the fact that they can serve most options gluten-free (i.e. on a gluten-free bagel) was great. Unfortunately, they do not have a dedicated deep-fryer, so I wasn't able to get any of the unhealthy stuff that everyone else had, but that's okay...I appreciated the fruit substitution for the hash browns!

The Best Vegan Restaurants in St. John's NL

The Bagel Cafe has been open for years in St. John’s as a beloved local establishment. It feels a bit old school and some of the seating areas can feel tight, but it is a great spot to go for breakfast or lunch. The menu isn’t the most vegan-friendly in the world, but you will find some things here if your omni-friends want to dine here.

17 of the Best Things to do in St. John's, Newfoundland (Tips + More!)

Though nothing spectacular, The Bagel Cafe is a cute and eclectic restaurant that’s perfect for breakfast because you’re going to want to try a touton (which I mentioned earlier in the post). The breakfasts are big, the menu long with options and fresh fruit is served (which I found difficult to find in most of Newfoundland).
