Reviews Summary

Diners praise the authentic Quebecois cuisine and the charming, historic ambiance of Aux Anciens Canadiens. The restaurant is lauded for its unique setting in the city's oldest house and for offering traditional dishes that transport guests to another era. While many appreciate the cozy atmosphere and attentive service, some find the prices high and certain dishes lacking in flavor or preparation, particularly concerning the vegetables and wine selection.

"Incredible VALUE and DELICIOUS traditional Québécois fare. Over the years we have enjoyed many fabulous meals in this restaurant. The decor is charming with many antiques and the food is ALWAYS consistently delicious. You literally can't go wrong with any of their offerings. Staff is always friendly and helpful to help you pick your meal!"

DR. ALVIN TUNG

"We were in Quebec City for 4 days of vacation. We stayed in the upper old city and we were able to walk to most of the historic sites and good restaurants. We researched this restaurant from home so we went one night without a reservation. The hostess took us to the back room as the front room was all reserved. Back room was also nice. We ordered grilled salmon, escargots, sparkling water and a nice glass of French red wine. The escargots were part of the prefix dinner which I ordered. A desert came with it. My wife ordered salmon off the menu. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. An enjoyable evening. I recommend it highly.
BTW, the restaurant is a free standing 300 plus year old house."

THE EXPLORER

"We had a great dinner, started with onion soup and goat cheese salad for my daughter breaded chicken with potatoes and I had steak. For Dessert we had blue berry pie which was delicious and we had Cream Burlee. Nice stuff and good service."
