Reviews Summary
Sansotei Ramen is highly praised for its authentic and rich tonkotsu broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and flavorful toppings, making it a top ramen destination. Diners appreciate the cozy ambiance and speedy service. However, some reviews mention limited non-pork options and occasional cleanliness concerns.
"This is a must-visit for ramen lovers. The warm, inviting atmosphere and attentive service made for a fantastic dining experience.
We ordered the Tonkotsu Black and Tonkotsu+, and they were so tasty—rich, flavorful broth, perfectly chewy noodles, and well-balanced toppings. The Gyubee and Zangi were equally delicious and well-seasoned.
With exceptional food and service, I will definitely return here. Highly recommend!"

"Tried this ramen spot recently and really enjoyed it! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles had a great texture. The ambience is warm and inviting—perfect for a cozy meal. Service was friendly and attentive. My only gripe is that they only offer pork options—NO chicken or seafood, which limits choices for those with dietary preferences. Still, if you're a pork ramen fan, it's definitely worth a visit!"

"Had dinner here when we visited Ottawa, saw great reviews and thought it would be worth a try… it is! We ordered the Tonkotsu and the Tonkotsu Black. Great broth richness level, love it with the thin noodles. The Tonkotsu Black is my fave because it had a very rich garlicky flavour. We also ordered the gyoza, which was very nice. They’re a bit full during dinner time, you might have to wait a bit, but the service was so speedy. Think we got our ramen within 5mins after ordering. Would come back!"

Dining Out: Your master guide to the best (and worst) ramen in Ottawa
Ottawa’s two locations of Sansotei (153 Bank St., 1537 Merivale Rd., sansotei.com) remain at the top of the ramen heap, thanks to their very reliable bowls. Over multiple visits, I’ve generally found the components of every bowl to be well made, if not stellar. The tonkotsu broth here may be Ottawa’s thickest and creamiest, and carnivores will appreciate the broth’s porkiness, as well as the bowl’s above-average pork belly.
Yunshang Rice Noodle - Eat This Town
From the daily line-ups at Sansotei, to the hand-made noodles at La Mien (RIP) and now at La Noodle in the Market, and of course the plethora of places to get your pho fix – there is no shortage of places to get a warm bowl of comfort food in the nation’s capital. New restaurant on the block Yunshang Rice Noodle further diversifies our options with its Crossing-the-bridge noodles, from Yunnan province in China.
