Reviews Summary

Modavie is celebrated for its captivating ambiance, consistently delivering delicious French cuisine and a lively jazz atmosphere that creates memorable evenings. Patrons frequently praise the lamb dishes and extensive wine list, though some have noted that wine pricing can be surprisingly high and certain dishes may not suit all palates.

"Delicious food and good vibe. We booked early for dinner at 5pm, 2 hour sitting time, recommended reservations, especially if you want to come around 7pm to experience Jazz live music. Their onions soup is a must try, they are also popular for lamb chops, my partner said it’s is really good. Will definitely come back"

"Our first meal in Montreal, conveniently located right next to our hotel in the heart of downtown on a lively street. We didn’t have a reservation but were seated quickly with a two-hour time limit, likely because it gets busier later with live music. The service and food were both excellent. I didn’t love the lamb rack, even though the waiter recommended it—it just wasn’t my thing. But the steak was fantastic and the portion was generous. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit!"

"WOW. this place is amazing! From out of town and was suggested to try this restaurant with live music. We walked in on a weekday evening and was greeted by a friendly host. The restaurant was packed but luckily we got a table on the bar side of the restaurant, where you could still hear the live music from the other side. Our server Buddy was amazing! And the food was delicious! We started the foie gras, garlic snails, and bone marrow. All of them was done to perfection! Our meals we tried rack of lamb and the catch of the day which was the Rainbow Trout. Both was so delicious though we both prefer the rack of lamb. It was definitely an enjoyable experience!! 5* all the way!! Must try!"

A wine bar with an old-time feel, guests can enjoy live jazz music seven days a week, top-notch Italian cuisine and an extensive wine list completes a meal at Modavie. For pasta dishes, try the lamb cavatelli with tomatoes, fennel and Parmesan, or the mushroom risotto with porcini and Parisian mushrooms. For meats, the salmon steak with mint sauce and sour cream, the duck confit with caramelized onions, or the rack of lamb in a fine herb sauce with goat cheese, potatoes and vegetables are all winners.
