In Banff, there are seven preapproved churches, five preapproved outdoor ceremony sites: The Fenlands Meadow, Tunnel Mountain Reservoir, Central Park, the Gazebo, and the Recreation Grounds; and five preapproved indoor sites within The Fenlands: the Concourse, the Lounge, Meeting Room One, Meeting Room Two, and Dry Floors. Since these areas are designated, there’s a chance that some of them are booked well in advance, so the earlier you’re able to turn in your permit, the better. Some people choose to forgo the permit, simply winging it or risking it, but I strongly advise applying for the permit.

A brand new addition to the Chateau’s repertoire, this luxurious champagne and caviar tasting in the Lakeview Lounge is probably not what you would expect in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. (I’m usually eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich after finally hiking countless miles to see a view like this.) It’s surprising and delightfully refreshing, mixed with top-notch hospitality. Our glasses of Veuve Clicquot were never empty; its effervescence perfectly complementing the rich, briny notes of the caviar.

Another dining at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise option is the Lakeview Lounge, set right off the main lobby, with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the mountain and lake. Although the scenery is elegant, the atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly. As guests walk into the Lakeview Lounge, they enter a large bar and lounge area, and to the right (facing the windows) is the dining area.

As the name suggests, the Lakeview Lounge is a restaurant which gives visitors a chance to dine while they get a brilliant view of Lake Louise. Additionally, they will also have a chance to see the Victoria Glacier, which is a great tourist attraction. The menu is rich, and if you visit in the summer, you can treat yourself to the many cocktails and iced tea options that they serve.

Lakeview Lounge (Lake Louise): Located inside the Fairmont Lake Louise, the Lakeview Lounge has the most incredible view of, you guessed it, Lake Louise!. While the prices are a little high, and during peak season they often don’t let non-hotel residents dine with them, it’s worth it if you can swing it!.
