Now, the brewpub is a community hub and offers cans, bottles and eight beers on tap, including Crisp Pils, a pilsner-style lager that is “approachable, polite and apologetically hoppy,” in a nod to the Canadian persona. Try the elk meatloaf or warm, soft pretzel, and take home an Albeerta Mix Pack with a sampling of 12 beers in four styles.

The park's only brewery is a fine stop for a beer and a burger, though the menu also features wings, poutine, nachos, fish-and-chips, and other pub fare in addition to well-made salads, steaks, and seafood dishes. I’m not gonna try and tell you this is the best beer ever, to be honest during our visit they had 6 brews on tap that were all pretty decent. In my “unexpert” opinion all the beers were fairly traditional and would likely satisfy the majority of the population, unfortunately they didn’t have any bombers or specialty beers for sale so the only thing we could drink was the standard tap.

Both Banff and Jasper have unique features to them that I loved, but due to my love of animals and connecting with other humans - I really really loved Jasper and all it had to offer. You have way more animals here because of the altitude, and it feels less crowded than Banff because of so many more parking spaces. You can find a bit more variety and I felt it was a bit more of an authentic outdoor experience like I used to remember when visiting the parks as a kid.

The new owners—Socrates Korogonas, Brett Ireland and Alex Derksen of Bear Hill Brewing, the parent company of Jasper Brewing Co.—had their change-of-use for the building approved by Parks Canada earlier this year. They have plans to put a food and beverage establishment, augmented by a retail outlet, in the space. Korogonas has said despite the group not being able to find a viable path forward for a cinema, the shareholders want to respect its legacy.

Most people think they will just do a bit of hiking when they head into a national park. Not true in Jasper Canada. While there is a plethora of hiking trails you certainly want to tackle (bear spray in hand), there are even more activities and day trips you don’t want to skip.

There’s nothing more fun than simply relaxing after a long day of exploring and adventuring. What I loved the most about the town of Jasper is how small it actually is. There are a couple of streets and the main street next to the train station is pretty much lined with bars.

There’s nothing more fun than hiking all day and grabbing a burger and Canadian cider for happy hour with your friends or loved ones. You can do just that at Jasper Brewing Co. Located in town, it’s the first brewery in a Canadian National Park.

It took a long time to arrive and I was told it was because the GF fryer took longer than the normal one. The meal was really tasty but unfortunately was only just warm. I ate it because it already waited nearly half an hour for it.

Later, we sit down to a meal at Jasper Brewing Co.’s brewpub and eatery. The diverse menu has much to offer; we settle on blueberry ale-braised sausages, a Vietnamese banh mi sandwich and a salad. Casual conversation fills the air.

Visit Jasper’s Information Centre or Parks Canada website to learn how to behave around wildlife. You should never approach or feed wildlife (and of course not take selfies!). If the animal feels threatened it might charge you.

Eat Dinner at Jasper Brewing Company: We sadly didn’t have time to eat here, but every time we walked by the place was packed. I love eating at breweries, and I will make sure to try this next time I am in town.

Downstream Bar&Grill is great if you want an extended bar of drink choices. Jasper brewing Co. is the perfect hangout for beer lovers. It’s Canada’s first National Park Brewery and has the best beer in town.

The car window is still down when I arrive at Jasper National Park’s Whistlers Campground. But I build a crackling campfire as soon as I park–just in case. Nearby, a family speaks in what sounds like German.

Jasper Brewing Co – If you’re after a great social experience, you can’t beat the JBC. This place is always packed and has great pub grub in portions so large you’ll almost never finish them!
