What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Waterfront Warehouse is lauded for its exceptional seafood, particularly the lobster rolls and fresh oysters, served in a lively, waterfront setting. Diners rave about the generous portions, friendly service, and good value. While the ambiance is generally praised, some find the warehouse theme slightly dated.
"We came here twice on our vacation, because we came to Halifax for the seafood. This place didn't disappoint! I got the fish and chips the first time we ate there, which were great, but the lobster roll I got the second time was to die for! We got bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer, which were also great! Definitely recommend checking them out."

"We came here twice during our vacation. The restaurant has a nice fun atmosphere. The food here is excellent! We had the molasses brown bread, fried calamari, and bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers, and fish and chips and lobster rolls for dinner. Everything was so delicious and there was a lot of lobster in the rolls. Even the fries are super good and crunchy. We had the blueberry buckle for dessert. Our server Maggie was very nice and friendly and took good care of us. We would highly recommend this restaurant."

"I can't say enough good things about this place! Stopped in for the first time on a whim during Buskers with my dog, as they offered a pet friendly patio. Great view for people watching and not crowded at all. I appreciated the dog rules posted so everyone knew what was expected of them. Ordered the lobster roll with a Caesar salad. BEST lobster roll I've had in ages!! Generous amount of lobster, fresh, cold, well seasoned mixed with mayo on a warm, soft bun. Caesar salad was the perfect size and tasty. Great service as well! I can't wait to go back again."

McKelvie's or Salty's for Halifax Seafood Dinner?

3 days in Nova Scotia: The ultimate itinerary for exploring Canada with kids
Dinner-wise our favourites were Waterfront Warehouse and Salty’s Bar and Grill, both right by the water (it was Salty’s where we spotted a seal) and both have scrumptious lobster options and very reasonable and happily-ingested kids’ menus. At Waterfront Warehouse we discovered Canada’s reputation for friendly behaviour was very well earned – with our waiter going above and beyond usual North American attentiveness to get hold of eye drops for my son who was struggling with post-swimming-pool eyes.
Understanding Nova Scotia’s love for lobster (and 5 places to eat it)
What makes it so special: Mac & Cheese is such a simple dish, but at the same time complicated in detail. Each additional ingredient can change its flavor completely and the wrong choice, would simply turn the dish into cheap fast food. While traveling Nova Scotia I tried lobster mac & cheese in at least three different restaurants and probably the only one that walked perfectly that thin line between a delightful lobster dish and unhealthy (but delicious) decadent food was Waterfront Warehouse.

Where and What to Eat in Halifax Nova Scotia!
Waterfront Warehouse is located right on the Harbourfront and it is best known for its seafood tower so that is exactly what we ordered!. It featured a full cracked Atlantic lobster, local oysters, a shrimp cocktail, crab claws, marinated chilled mussels, solomon gundy (which is another name for pickled herring), and a selection of sauces and chutneys. All of this was served in a two-story tower over a bed of crushed ice.
