Reviews Summary

Salvatore's Pizzaiolo Trattoria is a celebrated institution known for its exceptional New York-style thin-crust pizzas and hearty hero sandwiches, all served in a cozy trattoria atmosphere. While many rave about the delicious food and friendly service, some find the pizza not 'mind-blowing' or note that substitutions aren't always possible. For those seeking authentic Italian flavors, it's a highly recommended spot that offers great value.

"Hands down the best pizza place in all of Canada. The moment you take a bite, the pizza just melts in your mouth — it’s unbelievably delicious. I visited this gem while I was in Halifax visiting a friend, and ever since, no other pizza has quite matched up. Every time someone mentions pizza, I’m instantly taken back to that amazing experience at Salvator’s. If you’re ever in Halifax, this spot is an absolute must-visit!"

"I have been hearing about this place for years, and finally got to try it. Unassuming pizza place that reminded me of Italy. It's a busy spot, so we had a bit of a wait, but understandable given the size of our group (5)... otherwise it would only have been about 10 min for 2. The pizza sauce is very flavorful and toppings are generous. I had the meatball hoagie, and it was absolutely delicious and so filling. The prices are excellent! Definitely will be returning!"

"One of my absolute favourite places to go. The staff is great and the food is delicious beyond words. One of my friends and I ate our way through the entire menu about 8 years ago and it was incredibly fun. I usually stick to the original these days but everything is great. And the heroes are the best ever. Also got a slice of Hello Dolly cheesecake to go. Also really good! I love going to Sal’s SO MUCH 🤤🤤🤤"

Many of you may be familiar with the heroes at Salvatore’s, and I’ve heard you argue about whether the meatball is the best, or whether it’s the ham or the pepperoni. But a lot of people are oblivious to the Coney, which is somewhat of a secret menu item (it’s written on a chalkboard on one of the walls). It features a Nathan’s hot dog split and grilled, and topped with meat chili sauce, mustard, mayo, onions, pickles.
