The Highwayman serves Spanish-inspired tapas and is a great place to gorge on local oysters. There's a selection of oysters on ice, as well as other chilled and cured seafood and meats, classic Spanish tapas, and bar snacks that make for a perfect evening of grazing, but also a menu of hearty pasta and meat dishes should you require something more robust. Further along the restaurant is the kitchen which looks like a market showing their fresh seafood choices, bread maker, charcuterie and the big jamon iberico on display.

The bar is helmed by an internationally regarded mixologist, making it the city’s top cocktail destination. Make time for a seasonal cocktail creation, pre-dinner aperitivo, and glass of interesting wine during your meal.

The bartenders at Highwayman made me a non-alcoholic cocktail that tasted a lot like a negroni,” added another Reddit user. “It was the best I've had anywhere!. ” The Spanish-influenced restaurant is best known for its tapas but sober patrons will be thrilled to find a decent variet of non-alcoholic cocktails and beer a well.

Boot bars do have good food, and the Highwayman is proof of that!. This Halifax gem combines a cozy, rustic vibe with a menu that’s bursting with flavor and creativity. When you step inside, the ambiance immediately pulls you in—dim lighting, wooden accents, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

The Side Dish and I love celebrating our anniversary at the Highwayman because it reminds us of our honeymoon in Portugal and Spain. It is probably our favourite restaurant in the city, and this year’s occasion was phenomenal as always. We sat at the bar where we had incredible service and excellent cocktails.
