Reviews Summary
Ten Foot Henry is celebrated for its inventive, vegetable-forward dishes and warm, stylish atmosphere. Diners rave about the balanced flavors and generous portions, with many highlighting the unique whipped feta and tomato dish, and fresh tuna crudo. While the ambiance is consistently praised, some notes suggest informing the staff if you prefer all dishes served together, as the family-style approach can lead to staggered arrival.
"A truly charming spot! I had a table on the patio, which is beautifully decorated with greenery and creates a lovely atmosphere. For food, I started with the signature salad – so flavorful and unlike anything I’ve tried before. Then I enjoyed the fresh marinated tuna – light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. To finish, I had the blueberry cheesecake, which was delicate and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a meal that feels light yet fully satisfying."

"Ten Foot Henry is a delightful gem in downtown Calgary, offering a vibrant menu centered around vegetables, brunch favorites, pasta, and mostly fish-based dishes. The flavors are beautifully balanced, making each bite a treat. One unique aspect of the dining experience is the shared plates—while the portions resemble regular starters, the focus on communal eating adds an interesting dynamic to the meal.
Beyond the food, the ambiance and decor set the perfect tone for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and refreshingly modern, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Despite the unconventional portion sizes, the overall experience is fantastic, with attentive service and an inviting setting that encourages good conversation and great food.
If you're looking for fresh, flavorful dishes in a welcoming space, Ten Foot Henry is definitely worth visiting."

"We went to Ten Foot Henry for an early dinner before the dinner rush, and it was quiet, relaxed, and lovely. Our server was incredibly helpful, offering thoughtful recommendations that made our choices easy.
We started with the tomato dish and the in-house gluten-free seed bread. I’ve had this dish before with the sourdough (also delicious), but honestly, I think I prefer the seed bread. It’s flavourful, hearty, and pairs perfectly. This dish is a long-time favourite of mine and something I’ll continue ordering again and again.
We also had the Caesar salad, which is made with kale. I don’t usually gravitate toward kale salads, but this one is absolutely divine. So well balanced and fresh.
For our main, we shared the Arctic char with curry, and it was outstanding. The curry had just the right amount of kick. Not too spicy, just enough warmth to enhance the dish beautifully.
We finished with the mini butterscotch pudding topped with salted caramel and sponge toffee. It was rich, smooth, and the perfect size to satisfy a sweet craving.
To drink, we tried the house-made lemonade, a pina colada-style mocktail, and an iced latte. Each one was refreshing and so well made.
I always look forward to dining at Ten Foot Henry. The dishes are simple in concept, but everything is so well thought out and executed with care. The ingredients shine, and the flavours are consistently spot on.
10/10 recommend. Just make sure to reserve ahead. It’s popular for a reason."

What it is: Named after a cartoon character from the 1930s that was drawn by Carl Anderson, this restaurant has been a city staple for almost 40 years. The menu at this modest, convivial restaurant is a vegetarian’s dream, with reliable favourites like whipped feta and tomatoes on sourdough toast, and roasted cauliflower with spicy gochujang.
