Dveri is a homely restaurant with an unusual but nonetheless cozy interior theme. The seating is primarily indoors but diners will find themselves surrounded by climbing plants and colorful flowers, all within what seems to be a countryside cottage. The food is traditional Bosnian fare, with dishes such as goulash or sausage stew – in other words, comfort food that is in keeping with the theme of the restaurant.

When you know a lot of places in a city you tend to choose the same places over and over again and often you can actually pass by some amazing places, as in this case Restaurant Dveri. The restaurant is located in the very city center of Sarajevo, on Bascarsija. The place itself is very small but I promise you it’s one of the most cozy restaurant you’ll visit.

Hand-brewed coffee: The price/performance ratio is acceptable, mainly because the process of making coffee at the bar is very easy to take photos. This is my third cup of coffee that day. Passion fruit drink: I took a sip and it was too sweet, maybe because I just finished drinking black coffee;

We didn’t actually go to Dveri but it came recommended by a good traveller friend. They went when they were in Sarajevo and loved it. We actually did see it on Google when we searched for restaurants initially but only had so many days in Sarajevo!

This amazing restaurant in Old Town was recommended by our guide, Raza. It feels like you are engulfed in a secret garden. It reminds me of an old country kitchen and even serves up country dishes like corn bread, butter beans, and potato salad.

There is Karuzo which is a vegetarian restaurant with lots of vegan options, then there is Mala Kuhinja which is famous for it’s innovative dishes and vegan options and then there is Dveri, a small local restaurant with vegan options.

Head to Dveri to get a taste of traditional countryside cooking. It’s decorated like a country house even though it’s in the middle of the city, and chefs cook up traditional dishes with a modern twist. Plus, it won’t break the bank.

Već više godina, mali restoran u srcu Baščaršije dočekuje svoje goste širom otvorenih dveri. Mali prostor, sa još manjom kuhinjom vrlo je ugodan. Bašta puna cvijeća za sjedenje ljeti i topli enterijer u kojem se zimi pijucka rakija.

Anyone who has ever been to Dveri will talk about the pogačathe freshly baked bread. But not only that, I could also fall in love with the other dishes. There are many meat dishes, but also great vegetarian options.

We wandered into a quaint little restaurant in the old city called Dveri, and we were dvery, dvery happy with the light fare of fried sardines and roasted vegetables that we ordered.
