What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Baklava Ducan is highly praised for its authentic, handmade Bosnian baklava, offering a less sweet and wonderfully crunchy alternative to Turkish styles. Diners rave about the fresh walnut filling and the unique texture. While it's a small shop, the friendly and knowledgeable staff contribute to a positive experience, making it a must-visit for those seeking traditional Bosnian sweets.
"We liked this place. There were no too many sitting units but they were about to close. We ate quickly two types of baklavas to give it a try. We liked them. Different than classical Turkish baklava. The inside filling was rich and tasty. Wafer (thin sheet of dough) is not thin that much compared to Turkish baklava. It is more like a dough. But we loved this version too. Thank you."

"Just had the most amazing baklava! The layers were perfectly crisp and soaked in just the right amount of sweet syrup. The walnut baklava was definitely my favorite—the nuts were so fresh and flavorful. Seriously, this is the perfect treat to bring home to the family. Highly recommend!"

We tried the Sarajevo Sugar Lokum, a melt-in-your-mouth delicacy you won’t find in the typical Turkish-style baklava spots around the market. It’s soft, rich, and unforgettable.

You’ll find baklava literally on ever street corner but for the best, make sure to visit Cafe Jasmin or Baklava Ducan in the old city. Expect to pay 2-3 KM per piece and I would only recommend to eat 1 piece at a time as they are super rich.
