Reviews Summary

Phayawi Restaurante is lauded for its authentic Bolivian cuisine, with many guests highlighting the traditional recipes and excellent service that makes them feel right at home. The peanut soup and the mini pork shoulder sandwich are frequently mentioned as standout dishes. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, one diner reported a negative experience related to food safety.

"I loved the atmosphere, I happy to see more places like this in La Paz. Service was great and of course food was excellent, you have to try the sautéed onions in the Lomo and those ispis."

Erick von Borries

"We visited during a sort of festival celebrating La Paz’s anniversary, so the menu was a special edition. Overall, the food was good, but nothing particularly memorable — except for the starter: a Mini Pork Shoulder Sandwich. That was absolutely sensational! I’d go back just to eat that 100 times.

The service was outstanding — polite, attentive, and very professional. Everything was explained clearly, and all of our questions were answered.

If that sandwich is still on the menu when you go, order several and enjoy every bite!"

Paulo Gomes

"Nice restaurant with nice food, nice drinks and nice staffs. The owner is specially friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!"

For a traditional lunch, I love Phayawi, a restaurant in the southern zone that offers food according to its slogan “just like my grandma used to make it” in a well-illuminated space with an indoor market where you can also buy high-quality handmade Bolivian wares.
