What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Café del Mundo is lauded for its unique travel-themed ambiance and generous, globally inspired dishes. While many praise the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere, some diners have experienced significant wait times for their meals and found the coffee to be average. Service can be inconsistent, but the overall experience often leaves visitors feeling satisfied and inspired.
"A great cafe in the heart of the more touristy area in La Paz. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. The coffee was great and the service was friendly as well. Overall a great atmosphere and a great spot for a full meal or just a quick coffee and great cakes or brownies. Worth a visit when visiting La Paz!"
Paul Osswald
"I honestly don’t get the rave. The interior is lovely and the atmosphere is nice, but service was really slow—even though our waitress was kind. We waited around an hour for our food, so definitely don’t come starving. The coffee wasn’t great, and while the cakes were okay, the Snickers one was the standout. As for the food, it was disappointing considering the wait—it didn’t taste very fresh and came out at different times. I even felt a bit unwell afterward. They also said they took card, but when it came time to pay, they couldn’t."
Jennifer Sierra Pendergrast
"Cool concept! They serve different cuisine from different countries. They have coffee and pastries as well. The potions are humongous, and the price is very reasonable. Great option if you need some food options."

Quite an interesting three floor cafe serving mainly all day western style breakfast. They also sell (but not make) gluten free quinoa cookies, by the box or individually. Service is a bit slow and random, and you’ll have to fight for a seat unless you opt for a very very late lunch but I really enjoyed my first fry up in months.
