Reviews Summary
This cafe offers a charming atmosphere in a historic building with a lovely courtyard, perfect for enjoying great coffee and some Peruvian dishes. While many praise the delicious food, tender meats, and refreshing drinks, some diners have experienced issues with slow service, incorrect orders, and less impressive desserts.
"Incredible food and great customer service. I would say this is the best restaurant in the town. The alpaca was delicious and tender, as was the steak. Onions rings perfect. And what a great pisco sour"

"Delicious coffee and snacks. Had a cheese, mushroom empanadas that was light pastry hot and delicious tasting filling along with a smoked trout tostada Haines’s also excellent. The cheesecake for desert wasn’t as exciting. The little courtyard was perfect for a lunchtime snack very quiet away from the bussel of the city around it. Overall and excellent spot - 🙏"

"Lovely cafe bar in central Puno set in a beautiful historic house! The cafe are specialty coffee makers including various methods ie V60, moka pot, pour over and many more. Went for their homemade lemonades which were fantastic! Not too sweet and full of flavour. Lovely staff too."

Sights in The Southern Andes and Lake Titicaca
Reconstructed more than five times, this 17th-century colonial building, once a chaplaincy, now houses a fair-trade café, a library, and a few upscale handicraft stores. It was originally home to Silvestre de Valdés, a Catholic priest who served as a corregidor (a Spanish official who acts as governor, judge, and tax collector) and who oversaw construction of the nearby cathedral. The house had a long history of changing owners until its present owner, Ana Maria Piño Jordán, bought it at public auction.
Gluten Free Puno & Lake Titicaca
I’d eaten a snack bar or two before we found Cafe Bar de la Casa del Corregidor, which seemed like it was the cafe of a kind of hostel in the area.Muña tea and espresso were ordered, as well as juice because it was breakfast for us.The menu was not extremely gluten-free friendly, but I got some kind of frittata that met my needs. We also decided to split some chicken kebabs. Looking at them is making me hungry again. After we walked up to the Condor in Puno, we stopped at the cafe again for some classic Inca Kola, which is like bubble gum flavored pop.I also ordered a quinoa soup because breakfast didn’t fill me enough. And they were so kind to give us more corn to munch on.For our last meal before our night bus to Cusco, we just went back to Mojsa Restaurant again. I’m still not one for repeats, but it makes life so much easier as a celiac when you know there is a safe restaurant with decent food.

Also on the main square is the 17th-century La Casa del Corregidor, Deustua 576 (tel. 051/351-921), purportedly Puno's oldest house, with an impressive Spanish balcony; it now houses a very nice "cultural cafe" and is the best spot in town to take a breather. Nearby, the Museo Municipal Carlos Dryer, Conde de Lemos 289, is the town's principal (but small) museum. It has a decent selection of pre-Inca ceramics and textiles, as well as mummies with cranial deformations, but the collection is not very well illuminated.
