The cozy atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff also contribute to a positive dining experience. While most reviews are glowing, a few diners found certain dishes to be just 'okay' or a bit pricey for the portion size.

"Absolutely delicious meal this evening. Had the Lam Asperge stuffed meatball with mashed potatoes & veggies and some tatsy sauces I can’t remember the names of. And a side of couscous/pesto/radish salad. Great service and very helpful with the menu explanations. 10/10 recommend!"

Tom Phelan

"Was looking forward to eating here before we arrived in Ghent, and it did not disappoint! Ended up going twice it was so good. Every day is a new 4 specials, and they are so damned tasty! Everything is perfectly balanced, and the service is top notch and super helpful. Do yourself a favor and stop in, its a different experience. We'll be sure to come back next time we're in Ghent."

Butch Smith

"We sat outside and we were able to people-watch which was fun. We ordered inside and the food was brought out. I liked that they had water on the tables but it was unfortunately very warm. The pork BBQ meatball was delicious and I liked the salad served with it too. My mom was a little disappointed by her veal meatball. However we loved the concept and would recommend it!"

Restaurants in Ghent and the Leie

This now ubiquitous "fast food" meatball joint has found plenty of love across Belgium but it all started here in Ghent in 2012 with a simple pop-up. The idea is simple: pick from a choice of large meatballs (as well as a veggie option), served with either stoempe (Belgian-style mash and vegetables) or salad. Communal tables and bowls brimming with apples tick the right boxes, while the meatballs themselves have an array of fillings, from a mushroom and truffle to the classic liégeoise style.
