last year the broadsheets all got their knickers in a twist about a restaurant called The Yellow Bittern that – shock horror – only opened at lunchtime. Big deal: TouGou, my other 2025 discovery, only opens at lunchtime and yet when I went it was full of people with the temerity to consider that perfectly normal behaviour. I recommend making the time to have a lunch there if you go to Bruges, because it’s an absolutely exquisite restaurant that gets everything right, with a menu that will cause you serious anguish.
