Reviews Summary

Harlequin Restaurant is praised for its vibrant, colorful decor and lively ambiance, making it a popular spot for celebrations. While the food is generally described as delicious and well-priced, some diners note that service can be attentive and meals can take a while to arrive. Desserts receive mixed reviews, though the Caribbean coconut ice cream is a standout.

"My daughter and I celebrated our birthdays yesterday at this wonderfully and colorfully decorated restaurant. We had a great time listening to music across the street and watching all the tourists and locals walking by in the street in various states of clothing. The cars going by on the narrow streets were driving carefully. It was entertaining people-watching time! We loved it!

Harlequin has great food and good service, but it does take a while for the food to arrive at your table. But even so, the food is so delicious that you don't mind. Our server, Jenean, was attentive, friendly, and entertaining. She made the evening for us with her great personality! While waiting for our dinner, she recommended a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Pina Colada to us, and they were delicious!! My daughter had the Coconut Shrimp with the Onion Mash potatoes, and I had the Sesame Salmon with the Onion Mash potatoes. Both were delicious! We highly recommend Harlequin and hope to return again."

"What an amazing restaurant and the colours are vibrant. Very colourful and beautiful. The service was excellent, even for a busy weekend. The food was good and tasty. The desserts were so-so. The Caribbean coconut ice cream is just like it should be. The meals are very expensive. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks."

Our Guide To Eating Out In Barbados

Harlequin is a St Lawrence Gap favourite, with tables out on the deck, jazzy background music and a menu that features meaty king fish, tangy pork chops and pasta dishes. For particular Bajan fair, the fish fry at Oistins is a must. Choose from a variety of Bajan seasoned fish and have it fried or grilled, as you take in the local entertainment and music.

St Lawrence Gap - Barbados

Afterwards we walked down to the Gap convenience store since the mini-market didn’t have any spiced rum. We were so full from dinner we only had one drink and one beer. We brought some Crystal Light from home to use as mixer and both the Tropical Punch and Cherry Pomegranate flavors work well with the spiced rum.

Bistro-chic is the name of the game at the Harlequin, where you can dine on grilled specialities while listening to some mellow jazz. Pick a terrace table for under-the-stars dining for that romantic meal for two. The Harlequin Chicken is our favourite: its hot, spicy, and utterly delicious.
