"This is a good spot for a hearty and/or healthy breakfast/brunch, great coffee, and a quiet atmosphere. Located a couple of blocks form the train station and the center of town, it is easy to get to with an entrance on Maria-Theresien-Strasse and another entrance off of Eduard-Wallnofer-Platz.
The wait staff is very good, at least bi-lingual and noted a few were tri-lingual. There was a good crowd there when we visited, mostly tourists on the MTS side and seemingly more locals on the Platz side.
Good, varied choices on the menu - the waffles I ordered came on a stick, like a popsicle, for easier eating. The whipped cream was sweet without sweetener, and the two spreads were delicious. The wife had an egg, ham, and cheese plate that came with a small waffle on the side.
For drinks, the espresso and cappuccino were both very good as was the fresh-squeezed orange juice."

"Do not recommend at all. The freshly pressed juice was completely watered down (we saw this with our own eyes). The omelet and the waffles were pretty, but the omelet was tasteless and the waffles tasted like cheep supermarket waffles with a very weirdly tasting chocolate sauce. Save your money and go to “Summit and Friends” (around the corner) or “Heublume Wilten”, same price, delicious and filling breakfast."

Inside, the café décor is modern with high tables with stools, low leather booths and a white and green colour palate including a feature bamboo forest wall. The café has an extensive menu including homemade or regionally sourced organic bread, free-range eggs, homemade spreads, Austrian mountain cheese, waffles and French toast.

As per usual, we didn’t make reservations and even though we finally found two spots at the bar, realized pretty quickly that eating here would be a 2+ hour time commitment (there was literally one person taking orders and one sleepy-looking girl flipping the omelets). So, we turned lemons into lemonade, and went back to the Cafe Kroll for the second time in 24 hours. I got a savory strudel, and Rauanq ordered his sachertorte for breakfast.

This cafe was mainly recommended for their breakfasts, and they certainly delivered. The prices aren’t cheap, so I personally wouldn’t go here every day, especially if you’re on a budget… But it’s definitely worth going at least once. Opposite that in the Landhaus Platz, there is a really cool little cafe for Breakfasts (Called Breakfast Club) and in the sidewalk next to that, some of the best burgers in town - Zum Wohl Tyrol. Doesn't look much from the outside as is very small but the burgers are great and they sell Augustiner.
