Reviews Summary

Mohrenwirt Graz is praised for its authentic Austrian cuisine, generous portions, and friendly service. Diners rave about signature dishes like the tartare and schnitzel, as well as the delightful Kaiserschmarrn dessert. While prices are on the higher side, the quality of ingredients and overall experience are considered well worth it. A minor inconvenience noted by some is the occasional reliance on cash payments.

"Simply amazing! The food could not be any better. The service is superb and the atmosphere is very good too. It's definitely recommended to get a reservation, we were lucky they had a table without reserving in advance. The price is on the higher side but it's totally worth it. My go to restaurant in that area."

"Wonderful experience! The tartare is fresh and the seasoning is special without covering the original taste of the meat. I would definitely recommend it. The Schnitzel is great with crispy outer layer. They have two options for it: one is pork and another is veal. We tried the pork one and they handled the original taste of the pork very well. Also, I was impressed by the potatoes. The cake of the day is delicious too. It’s not too sweet and won’t make you feel too much after finishing it. And the ice cream dip is a surprising fit for the cake. Staff are friendly and caring. Had a great time eating here.

PS. The cake of the day might vary by chef’s choice and the wait time is a bit longer than other dishes (about 20-30 minutes), so if you’re tourists rushing between attraction spots, do think it thoroughly if you have time for it before you order it."

"This restaurant looks very cosy inside. It struck me for their regional products and the high quality of their ingredients.
The salad was amazing - a big portion full of taste.
Also the carrot - very buttery yet the lemon zest gave the freshness needed. Really good presentations overall. The meat was so tender and the wine was good too. The only down side was that I felt waiters to be slightly stressed and after having finished my meal, I was told that I had just 15 more minutes - something that wasn’t mentioned during the booking. Still, I do recommend this! Also very central in Graz."

Insider's Guide to Graz | Things to Do in Graz, Austria

This dimly lit and cosy Lend gem is one of my favourite restaurants in Graz and is worth the splurge. The menu is inventive and creative and very focused on locally sourced produce. In fact, the front pages are dedicated to telling you about all the suppliers, from where the beef was reared and which baker produced the bread to details on the co-operative who weave their chicken serving baskets.

Summer Weekend in Graz —

This was our Saturday night surprise find - we'd been aiming to get a table at the Italian restaurant Capello, but when they were full nabbed the last terrace table at Mohrenwirt right next door.
