Nestled into Mosman Bay just down from Reid Park, Mosman Rowers is a great stopover on a family day out. Having been around since 1911, Mosman Rowers almost closed shop last year as insolvency loomed. After raising $150,000 and signing up 500 new members, the venue has turned around more invigorated than ever. Set overlooking Mosman Bay, the large-scale rowing club now features three eateries across three levels, which range from a brightly lit cafe with floor-to-ceiling windows to a moody bar with terrazzo and brass trimmings.

The cuisine at Archie Bear is Australian, with a range of options for different dietary requirements, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

The recently renovated Mosman Rowers, sitting pretty on the harbour, "welcomes wet bums, sandy feet and paws". Take it from sea to seat with a Bloody Mary, some finger-scorching salt and pepper squid and a bucket of prawns, just as nature intended. They even do a full breakfast menu for early-risers including a properly excellent bacon and egg roll.

One of Sydney’s oldest sports clubs and harbour destinations, Mosman Rowers reopened in March 2019, following the generous support of loyal members and the local community. Archie Bear at Mosman Rowers welcomes wet bums and sandy feet (or paws!) on the deck for breakfast till 11:30am, lunch & dinner till 9pm.

This neighbourhood rowing club is a Mosman Bay waterfront all-day diner-slash-bar treasured by locals. The century-old institution is home to a 100-seater diner with sweet terrazzo tables. Seating outside is limited so get in early for an outdoor table for breakfast or lunch.

A visit to Mosman Rowers is best enjoyed after a spot of paddle boarding – but there’s no shame in skipping straight to a jug of Sangria and a bowl of prawn linguine on the glass-fronted terrace overlooking Middle Harbour. You’re practically on the water anyway.
