We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of UNU from Chiosco Vaccelli in Corsica, which complemented the dinner perfectly. The service was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even more special. Firedoor is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates incredible food crafted with skill, respect for ingredients, and a touch of magic."

"In short. Food is exceptional. But the experience was a little let down by a very rushed 6 course menu with paired wines…not giving us enough time to savour it all.

We opted for the 6 course tasting menu and the matching wines. We were seated at the bar, which I know many people love…but I’m too short for bar tables. But we managed.
Heads up, if you’re short like me…make a point of asking for non bar in your booking. Otherwise the bar experience is lovely because you do have a front view of the chefs and bbq.

The restaurant ambience is beautiful. Warm tones. Open chef area where you get to watch food prep and cooking. Beautiful leather trimmings in the bar. It’s fab.

The service is wonderful. Everyone was helpful, kind, informative. They didn’t miss a beat.

The food was sooo good. As I mentioned, we enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu and every course was perfect. Even the palate cleanser before dessert was yum. We also enjoyed the matching wines and the paired wines were unique and interesting. Enjoyed every single one of them. Every dish has its own type of smokiness that enhances the flavours. Each dish I would wish I had more of it. I was sooo full that the end of the meal.

My only downside is the 2.5 hours is NOT enough for a 6 course meal with matching wines. We found ourselves feeling rushed throughout the whole night. Constantly having to down the last of the previous wine as the next wine and meal arrived. I think the 2 - 2.5 hour sitting works if you’re not matching the wines or if you are having the smaller menu. But we definitely felt rushed. I understand that the restaurant needs to have an additional seating … but this did impact an otherwise beautiful night. Not sure if it is a better experience if you take the later booking or not. We had a 6pm booking… and we had seventeen the 6 course on the actual booking.
Oh! And a lovely touch at the end of the night! We received a roasted marshmallow and a candle for one of us who had their birthday recently. Very sweet."

"I honestly can’t explain how amazing this experience was. Having eaten a lot of wagyu over the years, I can truly say this was the best I’ve ever had and sitting at the bar watching it being prepared was amazing. The way the meat was prepared let the flavour speak for itself – no sauces, condiments, or extras were needed. It was absolute perfection and a real reminder that quality ingredients, cooked with care, are all you need.

The service was just as impressive. Angelica, the head of house, was warm, attentive, and made the evening feel so special. I left feeling completely looked after and grateful for such a memorable dining experience. Thank you 😘"
