What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Armorica offers a sophisticated French dining experience with a focus on refined dishes, an impressive wine list, and a romantic ambiance. Diners rave about the tasting menu, signature desserts, and attentive service from staff like David and Ibra. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some mention longer wait times for drinks.
"I came here with my partner for our anniversary yesterday. We had an absolutely fantastic experience. We started with some drinks. It took a while longer than we expected but staff were super apologetic about it and things happen so we were still happy. We got their Fixe tasting menu and it was super delicious and filling. The price of the tasting menu was really reasonable considering how much food we got. We were able to swap out the bread with escargot garlic bread for our appetiser and paid the difference which was great. Food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Staff were super friendly, and attentive. Overall, it was a great experience, I would totally recommend and come back."

"We randomly walked in on a weeknight with not much expectations but Armorica might have become one of our favourite french restaurants. If it’s your first time I highly recommend the set menu to share between two. Every bite was exceptional. Service was warm. Ambience was great. And most importantly, pricing was amazing. Will be back."

"We had a fabulous experience dining here! We celebrated friend’s birthday and were blown away at how beautiful the venue was. The restaurant printed out custom menus which added a personal touch to the dining experience. The $160 menu is definitely worth the money. We particularly enjoyed the Brie stuffed donut with caviar, king prawns and both tartare. The staff were accomodating and very nice. Would definitely recommend if you are planning a birthday event."

The capacious Crown Street site formerly known as Toko is now the home of Andrew Becher’s latest grand venture, Armorica. Armorica Grande Brasserie is a grand, glittering jewel on Sydney’s crown (street) and is a stellar option for a romantic evening.
The 20 Best French Restaurants In Sydney
Known for its encyclopedic wine list and multi-million-dollar fit-out, Armorica has become a lynchpin of Crown Street’s buzzy bar & restaurant scene, since it arrived in Surry Hills in 2023. From the same group behind the similarly Continental-skewing restaurants of Franca and Parlar, Armorica’s wheelhouse is made up of bistro-inspired sharing plates — think dry-aged proteins cooked on the restaurant’s Josper grill or leviathan seafood towers — washed down with a selection of New and Old World wines, plus signature cocktails. For a shot of much-needed joie de vivre, we’d recommend securing a Friday dinner booking: when Armorica’s buzzy, curvaceous dining room is filled with the sounds of live jazz & blues.
