Not to worry, as the name suggests the venue is enormous, with ample indoor seating and a side space that turns into a bar in the evenings. Brunch options run from huevos rancheros to a kimchi and bacon butty, plus plenty of opportunity to quash your hangover (or pick up a new one) via marmalade-spiked breakfast margaritas and double-shot bloody marys.

Not only is the Pony oh-so hip, it also has an all-day breakfast menu, a rarity in these parts. My pick is the feta and avocado smash on sourdough from local bakery Pigeon Whole Bakers. The latte here could have been the teensiest bit hotter – purists will tell you that milk proteins change over 70°, affecting flavour, but I'm a firm believer that an extra 5° is neither here nor there and allows you to savour your coffee over a longer time period.

My Experience: Room for a Pony is one of Hobart's trendiest spots, particularly well-known for its laid-back outdoor seating area. This place is perfect if you're dining out with your dog. Max and I visited on a bright day, and the staff were attentive, immediately offering Max a bowl of water.
