What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Machine Laundry Cafe offers a unique dining experience with its creative menu and quirky laundromat concept. Many praise the excellent coffee and inventive brunch dishes, highlighting the friendly service and eclectic atmosphere. However, some reviewers have noted issues with food quality and taste, particularly with certain sweet or bland dishes, and also experienced overwhelming busy periods with slow service.
"While on holiday we had to do our washing, what an amazing place to do so! The breakfast sandwiches were amazing, the staff were incredibly accommodating and happy, and the family friendly chilled out atmosphere was just the best start to the day. A staff member told my dad that the difference about this place is that the owner runs it on love, which you can definitely feel! Thank you for having us."

"Cool area to eat but it was so busy the staff looked very overwhelmed. After ordering our food arrived after a long time and it was quite disappointing the taste of the sausage / chipotle and the peanut burrito breakfast thing was so sweet and the flavours just did not blend. Besides the ambience and a cool laundry format brunch the food was a big letdown."

"Before you come here, try to keep walking as there's so many other cafes nearby that are way way way way better.
The place looks funky due to the laundry mat attached to it, which is I suppose it is OK if you need to do your laundry and might as well hang out, wait and have a bite or coffee.
But if you're on holiday, please keep walking and check out other cafes.
The food is average, OK, I suppose. The chai latte I ordered was not that hot, plus I ordered large, and a regular came out. When I corrected it, the staff said she'd written down regular. Thankfully, my partner heard my order, which was large. She didn't say sorry.
The venue is OK. A bit crowded inside and looks like children playground outside. But if you keep walking, especially if the Salamanca markets are on, then you'd definitely find more any WAY AWESOME authentic coffee and food. Plus, it's better service."

If you believe that a great coffee is the cornerstone of every decent breakfast then this knockabout café on Salamanca Square will suit you perfectly. The novelty of being part of a working laundromat seems a bit redundant – all the machines were empty when I ate there. The café’s popularity is not entirely due to the quality of the coffee beans – the food is pretty tasty too.

Tricycle is cute, with yummy baked eggs, and Machine Laundry cafe at Salamanca Place has great coffee. It’s both a laundromat and a cafe (hence the name) and also looks out on to a giant chess set in the square if you fancy a game between rinse cycles.
Favourite Cafes
As its name suggests, this place is half cafe, half laundromat, and while I attacked my bacon and eggs, people did actually shuffle in to the laundromat side, stick their coins into washing machines and do their laundry. Great selection of brunch and lunch options: muesli, french toast, banana and ricotta hotcakes, eggs - various styles, fruit toast, muffins, three bears porridge (poached pear with a swirl of blueberry coulis & toasted almonds...yum!), parmesan and pancetta pancakes, & specialty egg dishes, burgers, soup, salads, & the famous 'fat boy' - roti bread wrap with grilled chicken, bacon, tomato, ice burg lettuce & spicy peanut sauce .
