Make your way through the ‘on ice’ selection, which includes kingfish tartare and fresh prawn cocktails, or just dive right into mains like the mussel conchiglie, the Eastern lobster frites, or the towering seafood platter with kingfish tartare, chilled tiger prawns, yellowfin tuna and avocado, taramasalata and salmon roe, freshly shucked oysters and spiced bread.

One of the GC’s very favourite ocean-view venues, The Tropic offers a solid ten bottomless brunch and absolutely nobody is surprised to hear this. Taking place exclusively on the terrace on the last Saturday of every month, not only will you be privy to multi-million-dollar views and DJ beats but also a delicious Mediterranean-inspired menu. Think Fig and Persian Feta, Steamed Barramundi, Puffed Spiced Bread, Mixed Berry Panna Cotta and more, but no need cuz we’re already #sold.

For something quieter and cosier, Rosella’s is a love letter to the Gold Coast of yesteryears with Australiana-inspired cocktails such as the Blinky Bill, Matildas, and an ode to Fantales made with house blend rum and Daintree dark chocolate. Restaurant Labart is a neighbourhood bistro with a European-style menu, while Light Years’ colourful Burleigh outpost has Asian-inspired plates and tropical cocktails. Justin Lane is the spot for pizza and cocktails.

The Tropic is the second and more formal offering from the two-storey oceanfront Burleigh Pavilion. The 240-seater is led by former Cottage Point Inn head chef Guillaume Zika and his team, who have created a menu laden with local produce. Seafood is the main star here – with dishes revolving around a seafood platter, giant octopus, and grilled tiger prawns.

The Tropic is probably our favourite place to eat on the whole Gold Coast. It has the best views of any Gold Coast restaurants we’ve been to and the food, the cocktails and the vibe are all incredible!. It does get super busy so I’d suggest booking in advance, but definitely try and book a table for sunset to enjoy dinner and a seriously epic view.

Laid back atmosphere where you are not rushed and can spend hours chatting while enjoying an award-winning bottle of wine.

Set right on the water at Burleigh Pavilion, The Tropic is the perfect place for sunset drinks and a laid-back yet elegant meal. The atmosphere is lively, with ocean views and a coastal-chic design. We stopped by for aperitivo, trying the Maybe Basil cocktail, Iberico ham, olives, and pita bread—all delicious.

People come to The Tropic to see and be seen and enjoy the jaw-dropping view from the outdoor terrace. Order a few drinks and ocean king prawns served with dry vermouth butter, shell­fish oil, and basil to share. Later in the season, when whales venture closer to shore, is the best time to whale watch here.

The Pavillion and The Tropic, in the southern part of Burleigh Beach, also have excellent water views. If you prefer, you can dine at Willow Dining, which serves Mediterranean, European, Modern Australian, Spanish, and a mix of Asian faves, as well as clever handcrafted cocktails and distinctive wines.
