This evening is the crowning event we’ve been looking forward to the most: dinner at Esca, one of the most admired restaurants in the region and the pride of Bimbadgen. Although there is an a la cart menu, we’re treated to a six-course adventure through not only some of Esca’s best dishes, but also Bimbadgen’s finest wines. I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just say this menu is superb.

Bimbadgen is not just a winery, it’s an insight into the culture driving the Hunter Valley. With striking architecture, an art collection and an imposing bell tower as the image of the brand, Bimbadgen complements its aesthetic appeal with outstanding wines like the trophy-winning Vermentino and Semillon. The on-site restaurant, Esca, provides the culinary equivalent of the excellent wines.

While we also had access to the shuttle between Emma’s Cottage and the accommodation the next day, I decided I’d prefer to drive us, but booked the free service again for dinner that night at Esca back at Bimbadgen Estate.
